We had the A special for four people, it was absolutely delicious! Portions were generous. I can't say enough about the pork... fried rice. I moved back to Chico after being in Iowa for almost 30 years, and it was one of the places I couldn't wait to getback to. While the ownership may have changed in that time period, the recipes and ambience have not. A great experience, asalways. Will be returning many, many times! Read more
Negative stars. My daughter got food (late dinner) here about a week ago, she was fine with her order and the food seemed fine... until early the following morning, she had to go to the clinic and then the hospital because she got severe food poisoning andthought/felt she was dying. It was VERY traumatic. We looked at the reviews and ratings before ordering as we had never ate herebefore and everything looked really good so this was a very confusing/disappointing and stressful experience. I encourage peopleto just be aware and re-consider where you're going to eat, this is not something we EVER want to go through again. Read more
Omg I didn't think I could love this place more, but they made the chicken pieces smaller in their lemon and general chicken,... and it's the best! Still all white meat, but easier to eat and share! Long time customer. Read more
Hands down best Chinese Food in Chico. Noodles are actually delicious, not dry or greasy. The customer service is just as... amazing; super accommodating with substituting menu items for combos. And it takes them 10 minutes or less to prepare the foodwhen you call over the phone. My favorite thing is the crispy eggplant combo.Will always be my go to place for Chinese foodhere, thank goodness it's so close to me. Oh yeah and the to-go plate will feed you for 2-3 meals! Food was fast, hit, and tasty. Seating was in booths or tables. Take was an option. We had lunch. $22 for 2 people and tax.... Didnt order soda. No coke. Will go back. Good service. Read more
I'm once again "Happy" that Happy Gardens is once again available for in dining eating. I arrived on a Friday night, immediately... seated, and knew exactly what I wanted. I ordered the Mongolian Beef, Lemon Chicken, Special Chow Mein, and the Sweet/SourPrawns. No more than 10 minutes later my food arrived... and tasted like Heaven! The portions are STILL plentiful and extremelytasty, with the right amount of spices, sauces and meat/vegetables in each dish, leaving me thoroughly filled with extra for thenext day's lunch. Not much more can be said about how great this restaurant is. The service is crisp and attentive, prices arenormal for an establishment like this, and not too crowded on Tues-Thu. Lunch specials can be found, and dinner specials for 2-3people make this an absolute necessity for a date night. A piece of heaven I will continue to patronage for years to come. Read more
