I have always loved Japanese Blossoms since I moved to Chico and tried it. Hands down the best Sushi place in town. I know for a... fact they utilize the freshest fish and crab as I spoke to the owner about their sourcing. Friendly staff and a modernatmosphere add to the experience. GREAT sushi. Edit: I had only had takeout before which was amazing but dined in tonight and even though there was only one... waitress she kicked a$$ on top of that the sushi was fully next level. Tipped her $50 on a little over $100 bill because she wasperfect. Super duper sushi. Best in Chico. Fast service and very friendly. Make sure you make reservations. Always busy. Update -... something happened that changed my recent post. The restaurant changed from what I was accustomed to. The interior has beenchanged so I am assuming their may have been a change in ownership. Service is still on par but I felt the quality of the sushihas changed. I now would change my ? rating to a 4. Also, in the past the place was always packed with needed reservations, nowwe walked in and were seated right away. Looking around during the visit quite a few tables were empty. The food was very tasty and delicious, but I can't say much about the service there because we had four meals coming but she... only brought three meals to our table. We asked for our missing meal, she said she would find it but never came back to ourtable so we had it deleted from the bill and had to leave with one person still hungry, very sad time for us that night. Service was deficient and food was mediocre. The last couple of times we ate here the service and food have gone way down hill.... Original server completely screwed up our order and the replacement server had no idea what was going on. I am sure that cut wayback on the menu because all they have now is the basic rolls, nothing like they used to have. We?ll never go back there again. Read more

Date night with the wife, so we tried Japanese Blossoms. We were seated right away, BUT the restaurant was unbelievably noisy.... Other than that... here it goes. We started off with the Miso soup, which was full of flavor and had just the right amount oftofu. We then ordered the Dalmon Poke, the Tal Dori (teriyaki chicken with veggies and noodles), the fried shrimp platter withfried asparagus, onion rings, and squash, and 3 sushi rolls...The Shasta Roll, The Dev, and a basic California roll. To say thefood was tasty does NOT do it justice! Plenty of food, plenty of flavor, plenty of leftovers. The waitstaff were on-point, andhelpful as can be. Spices, rice, crispy tempura, sushi, noodles...ALL cooked/rolled perfectly and timely. I will be back, ifonly to continue trying their lengthy menu. One suggestion!? Try to open up a portion of the establishment for a more intimateexperience for couples who enjoy talking to each other, not listening to others talk. Read more
