Stayed here for our polar bear trip. Beautiful, comfortable, yet rustic accomodations. Food was basic, nothing to write home... about, but service was excellent. Wait and lodge staff very accommodating. Read more

We had the best experience with Lazy Bear Tours. They had planned and covered all details of the trip to a remote tundra region.... The guides - Eric and Kelly were amazing and made every day exiting as we saw over 9 polar bears including a mom with a cub. Thelodge notified us about Northern Lights - what a colorful spectacle in the sky. Food and service was great. Melissa helpedeveryone on way back at Winnipeg airport. I will highly recommend Lazy Bear Tours - I will give them 6 stars if Google allowed!! Read more

Wow! Lazy Bear Lodge exceeded my expectations! The lodge is a Churchillian owned family business that focuses on the guest... experience. Sue and Melissa made the booking process easy and were very responsive in answering my questions ahead of the trip.On our day of departure we were delayed, by no fault of Lazy Bear, and I thought they pivoted superbly. They immediatelyadjusted our schedule so that we didn't miss out on any of the activities. Deacon (the owners son) and Eric were our guidesthroughout the trip and were knowledgeable about the area of Churchill, polar bears, and other local wildlife. Getting to seethe polar bears in the tundra was amazing! We saw 7 bears on the trip. Deacon and Eric were great at positioning our crawler tomaximize our viewing pleasure and seemed to have an awareness for not disturbing the ecosystem around them. The crawler isheated and spacious. Dave Daley and his team of dogs at Wapusk Adventures was one of the highlights of the trip for the dogmushing experiential ride. You walk away with a whole new perspective on what the life of a dog musher is like, and the nightride is unique in its own right. Seeing the Northern Lights in all their magnificent green was incredible. Amberlee worked thefront desk and watched over the skies while we slept to notify guests when they were visible. The crawler can get a bit bumpy ifthat's of concern to you, also out of Lazy Bear's control. If you plan to eat someplace else while you're in town, make areservation, they fill up. I traveled as a single so I paid a small supplement, but Lazy Bear does offer to match you withanother traveler if you're interested and there is another. Read more

We visited the lodge near the end of June this year to see the beluga whales. And what an experience!! Lodge was comfy and cozy,... food was insane delicious (shout out to the pickerel!), staff sooo friendly and helpful. Our guide (no idea how to spell hisname, but phonetically it?s Hyno) knew everything and more about anything to do with Churchill, whales, bears, and history. Andjust so nice! We can?t compliment the lodge and staff more. Only downfall were the mosquitos! And they weren?t even in fullforce yet. Churchillians are a special kind of people to be able to handle them. We booked a Beluga whale tour package with Lazy Bear lodge and it included two nights stay and breakfast as well. We were also... provided pick and drop from the train station upon arrival and departure which definitely was a plus. We had a pretty good timeat the lodge and all the tours provided by them (cultural and heritage tour of Churchill, Prince of Wales Fort tour, Belugawhale watching on zodiac boat) were good as well. One of the major advantage of staying at the lodge was the in-house café. Wenever had to worry about venturing out for food. The food is delicious and lots of variety on the menu. The lodge is nice andcozy and well kept. The staff was warm and friendly. All in all the experience was worth the price. I will stay again. Read more
