We wanted to try something different and order from here. It is hot and fresh and served in large portions. We ordered it... delivery via Doordash. The curry sauce did spill out of the container but was in a bag. The yellow sauce will stain. Thechicken curry, mac and cheese, cornbread, and jerk chicken with coconut bread are tasty. In my opinion, the jerk chicken tastesbetter with bread than with the rice. The food is unique in flavor but not overly seasoned either. First time eatin Jamaican at this location...let me tell you this place has their food on spot. Very well prepared and... portioned. The food was a tad bit cold but being that it is served in takeout plates that was to be expected. Very friendlypeople with great customer service. Read more
I came by on a Thursday during lunch and ordered the curry chicken with rice and beans, cabbage and plantains (With extra gravy)... and it was really good. The customer service was on 100% and the food came out fast and hot, and it was a large portion size. Sofar, best Jamaican food I?ve had in San Antonio but of course I gotta come back and try their jerk chicken! Read more
Had lunch at this place, I ordered jerk chicken wings with Mac and cheese with a Jamaican cola all for $20, the wings was cook... on the grill, the jerk sauce on the wings was HOT!!! I enjoyed it. The mac and cheese was very creamy an was very flavorful. Theonly 2 things that I didn?t like was the fact that the chicken was warm/cold and the other I will not say. I ordered the oxtails combo that came with rice, cabbage, and plantains. The oxtails were well seasoned and tender as they... easily fell off the bone. 8/3 Update: flavors of rice/beans & cabbage has improved since my last review!! This is the first time I have had jamaican food, but wowee that is some good stuff. The modest rice and peas are perfectly... cooked and seasoned. The plantains had a wonderfully sweet and savory flavor with an interesting soft yet chewy texture thatmakes you want more. The cabbage stew was satisfying in that way which only cabbage stew can fulfill. The jerk chicken waspotently spiced, juicy, and plentiful. I work nearby so I plan to become a regular customer. Love, love, love, love this restaurant! I've been to Jamaica numerous times and this is the most authentic restaurant I've found... in this area. I had the jerk chicken and the hubs had the chicken Curry. Both were delicious, with the right amount of spice.The hubs said that the chicken Curry could have used a little more sauce though. We will definitely be back - I want to try thejerk chicken tacos! ???????? UPDATE - I had the jerk chicken tacos and they are awesome!
