I have been to the James countless times and have had very pleasant experiences. This was by far the most unenjoyable. First we... were greeted by a fairly rude host (who later apologized for his rudeness) who told us we had to wait 2 hours for a table. Therewere at least 5 visible tables that had no occupants, and by the end of our hour long dinner, the restaurant was nearly empty. Our party initially was greeted by what we thought was a joking waitress, Ashlynn, by saying that she didn?t want us to bepicky. We laughed and continued our evening. I intended on getting mac and cheese with chicken (as I have before) and sheessentially scolded me for asking saying, ?you want chicken in the mac and cheese that already has bacon?? I said yes, and sherolled her eyes. While we ordered she jokingly told us that there was no lettuce for salads, and we laughed and she laughed andwe thought she was joking (as she had already made a few snide remarks we interpreted as jokes) She was not. When I asked ifthey actually had salad she said, ?no, absolutely not.? Without a salad I had to readjust my order and when I ordered adifferent entre she scolded me once more. We were not being difficult, in fact we were being overly nice to our rude waitress. The food was good, and we decided to offer our waitress redemption by ordering dessert. While our desserts were being prepped,we stacked our plates and expected them to be bussed, as everyone around us was being treated well, however our plates continuedto stack on our small table. When served, we asked for spoons as ours were dirty. She stared at us very aggressively and rolledher eyes. Again. She then dropped our checks off and did not speak to us the rest of the night. I eat out often and this was myleast favorite dining experience because of our aggressively rude waitress. Next time I am asked to go to the James I willhesitate to say yes. Read more

Lambert?s has beautiful decor, old time panache, and a rustic flair of the west in Cimarron. The food is tasty and comes out of... the kitchen quickly. Our waitress was pleasant and quite happy. This is a must if you find yourself in Wheeler Peak area. Read more

4 of 5 of us had steaks. They were just ok. Not flavorful enough. Tenderness was OK. I had the scallops. Very good. Tender and... tasty. Could have had 2 more. Read more
