I recently visited an Amma's kitchen with a buffet system and I was very impressed. The food was delicious and full of flavor.... The selection of dishes was varied and there was something for everyone. The staff was friendly and helpful. I especially likedthe fact that they had a wide range of vegetarian dishes, making it easy for me to eat there. The prices were also veryreasonable. All in all, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it to others. Read more

Excellent Indian vegetarian food at Cincinnati's best known Indian vegetarian restaurant, Amma's Kitchen on Reading riad. The... spiced gobi could easily passed for tandoori chicken. My favorite is the poori with chana masala -- poori is my childhood Indiancomfort food and the chana (chickpeas) masala is nicely spiced. My dining companions ordered dosas. We shared the kheer, payasam, and almond kulfi. Lots of parking. Read more

The good: the food was just excellent. It wasn't the standard American version of Indian food that you can get at a dozen... restaurants around town. This was a wide variety of interesting and unusual dishes with unique flavors, a real bright spot inCincinnati. And there were so many vegan options! The bad: the service was not good. It took a long time for us to be seated atall, they never got us the right amount of silverware, and we spent an unreasonable amount of time just waiting for someone tonotice us. The dining area wasn't very clean, and that brought down the experience for us. I still have to give a good review, because the food was just so excellent, but I think I'll go with carryout next time. A must go for anyone who loves vegetarian South Indian food or wants to try it. The food was authentic, flavorful and lip... smacking good! We ordered Mini Idlis, Podi Dosa, Parota Kurma, Medu Vada, Dahi Vada, Amma's Thali and Chole Bathura and everysingle item reminded us of flavors back home in India. We probably over ate, but it was worth it. Highly recommend if you arevisiting Cincinnati! Read more

I went in thinking that the restaurant served south indian dishes. Any South Indian knows how great Sambar could be. We ordered... Sambar wada and it was completely bland. This ruined my evening. Imagine ordering brownie and all you got was whole wheat bread. The second dish I ordered was Idly manchurian but we got served with chilli Idly. They are similar dishes, but I didn'tappreciate that. Chilli Idly was fine. I heard great things about the place. I experienced nothing in that sense. Read more
