Had an amazing time here. Great vibe and amazing service. Make sure you have a reservation! But it is possible to find a seat at... the bar if you forget (: The hosts and bartender (Mitch) were amazing. So was our server! The food here is always great! I havebeen once before during a Cincinnati food event and had the best Lamb chops I have ever had. I’ve been keeping an eye outhoping they come back! I had the Short Rib over Gnocchi and it was exactly what I needed! So good. I can’t go anywhere withoutgetting mashed potatoes, they were good too. My boyfriend had the Eggplant Milanesa and ate every bit! The must have wasdefinitely the Empanadas! We had the Korean BBQ and the Spinach. I’ve been thinking about them ever since. We had reservations for 2. We showed up ~30min early for our reservation. The staff at the check-in counter wasn't very... friendly. Even though there were open tables and people leaving they refused to seat us until we were within 5min of ourreservation time. Once seated our server was friendly and the food we ordered arrived quickly. We ordered a beer and an OldFashion Manhattan. For our meal we ordered 3 empanadas (2 Korean BBQ and one chicken), braised short rib with gnocchi, & butcherfries. Everything tasted great and was prepared well. It was our first time visiting Butcher and Barrel and it turned out to be a wonderful experience overall. Ambiance was very warm... with a rustic style, with great service (Special shout out to Crystal who truly epitomized genuinely warm hospitality which wasrefreshing to see!) For appetizers, we ordered the flavorful sliced tomato salad adding your choice of meat. Our entrees alsoincluded the braised short rib with gnocchi and the rib eye that were really seasoned well. My partner and I got the experience for two. We substituted the fries for gnocchi. The gnocchi was very good, as was the Brussel... sprouts. They steaks and sausage we got were very meh. They were kinda chewy and hard to cut through with our knives. The shortrib was way too rare. For drinks we got the special margarita, old fashioned manhattan and the Cincinnati shrub. They were allvery good. For an appetizer we got the provolone, it was alright. We probably won’t come here again. Read more
Great place to have a drink and dinner. My wife and I loved going there. They have a good selection of quality bourbons at great... prices. This is my second time stopping by Butcher and Barrel. This is more upscale than your typical bar & restaurant combo. The food... has Argentinian influence. I got what was described as argentinian deviled eggs. Those were the highlight of my trip toCincinnati. The braised beef & truffle gnocchi were a little rich for me but were none the less extremely flavorful. I'm surethat I will stop in again on my next visit. Read more
