Most of the dishes are too salty - the dim sums are not supposed to be overly salty. There’s barely any fresh selections in... the cart. The only reason why I am not giving them even less stars is because it’s in Cincinnati; and the options are limited. Read more

(10/6/22) This is a hidden gem. It is difficult to describe how beautiful it is in here. There is soft piano music playing in... the back which beautifully compliments the ornate design. My server took time to describe the dim sum menu to me with remarkablepatience, and everything I had was fresh and excellent. The pork bao is the best I have ever had. I was in town for a workconference and the combination of the atmosphere and the service I received made it my favorite new restaurant. I would happilymake the hour drive to experience this level of quality again. This is a family business that has obviously been curated overmultiple generations, so don’t waste your money on Applebee’s. Read more

This was our first visit here. It doesn't look like too much on the outside but inside is beautiful and has plenty of seating.... The service was impeccable; all employees were sweet and remembered everything we needed. The guy who seated us and brought usour tea and food was so friendly and had a sense of humor. The food was delicious. I tried both the miso tofu soup and theszechuan eggplant while my husband had the hong sue tofu. We tried each other's dishes as well. Portions were generous but notoverbearing. Presentation was nice. Quite a few vegan options available for the health-conscious. The sauces were rich. It wasdefinitely the best tasting szechuan I've ever had. The oolong tea was served in a teapot for refills and was loose leaf; it wasdelicious as well. The only negative I have to mention is the cost. Each menu mentions there is a 10% increase on the bill tocombat rising food costs. I get it, but at the same time, this was the most I've ever spent on eating out (about $40 before tipfor two). Be aware of this before you stop by! All in all, Grand Oriental Chinese gave us an excellent experience but at apremium price. If it weren't for the high cost I think we'd make the trip all the way out to Loveland just to go here. The restaurant is nicely decorated and well maintained. Service was also fine. We had a wonton soup, a vegetable soup, shrimps... with vegetables, and a Mongolian beef. Food was tasteful, however the amount dose not seem to correspond my expectations.Especially there were too little beef in the Mongolian beef. Other than quantity, everything else was very good. We were in the area and checked reviews when we decided on Chinese food. Egg roll was perfect. Crunchy and flavorful- loved... it. He loved his fusion kimchi tofu soup and kept trying to get me to try it… I don’t like pickled anything but he trulyenjoyed this dish and wanted to share. He ordered Kung Pao chicken and I ordered Szechuan chicken. I had asked a couplequestions about it as it had been a while since I have had that dish anywhere and I was craving spicy. She confirmed it wasspicy. Everything was good thus far so we were surprised at the main dishes not living up to what we had hoped and experiencedwith our soup and egg roll. The Szechuan chicken was sweet. There were so many shredded carrots I really disliked this dish. I strongly discourage ordering this dish. I thought I might just be off and asked him to review it and it was the same. Hesaid, “underwhelming and not spicy, no flavor” He said about his king pao chicken, “no heat, lack of flavor”. Basicallyhe said the same about both but was very surprised by the sweetest level. We did not enjoy the food overall… Cute/prettyplace with very friendly people…. Read more

Being an STL native I am blessed to have amazing dim sum at home. I was certainly not let down when dining at Grand Oriental.... The atmosphere, service, Food, dim sum, menu, and tea was all perfect. We never had to wait for a cart despite being busy fordim sum. The servers were attentive and very kind. My daughter loves dim sum and we love authentic Chinese cuisine. Whenever wefind a spot that caters to this taste, we show them love! We will be back when we come back to the area! Read more
