Very very good! Great atmosphere (dark yet cozy), Excellent service (servers standing by), and food was very tasty! The French... Onion soup was a bit off and Sangria more like cold mulled wine but main courses very good. Decent value overall! With tip anddrinks it was on the upper end but still really good. Read more

Such a wonderful experience starting as soon as we walked in the door. We were warmly welcomed by Sam and the other hostesses,... sat promptly, and greeted with a welcoming smile from the server. The bread was warm and toasty, the pomegranate martini wasfresh and crisp. The starter side salad was delicious, and the perfect size. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection with adelicious peppery seasoning. We then decided to try the ricotta donut bites. They were so sweet and fresh. Also need to mentionin between all of this delicious food, our server delivered exceptional care. Amy was so sweet and personable. Overall awonderful experience and I will definitely be back soon! We were in town for UC homecoming and a friend recommended Trio. We had a wonderful evening at our own pace talking and having... fun. The food was excellent. We had the salon, short rib and the lemon chicken. The banana cream pie was good and unique. Giveit a try Read more

Decent place, but certainly not at the top of my list. Overall: 7.7/10. Excellent service keeps this place ranking fair on my... list. The food is delicious, but the drink menu is their achilles heel. 1) Atmosphere: 8/10 - a bit outdated, but I supposethat's part of the charm. Still, it would be a welcome change if they updated some of their tables or even just some decor. 2)Allergies: Unknown - I did not ask if anything can be made with gluten and lactose allergies in mind, but I don't see why theywouldn't be able to. Their food is fresh and healthy. I'm sure they would be able to offer something for someone suffering fromfood allergies. 3) Happy Hour: 6/10 - don't bother for happy hour. Sure, the prices are good, but they offer no happy hourcocktails. Beer and wine is on discount, as are a few appetizer options, but nothing to write home about. I would recommend theyadd some cocktails to their happy hour list. Disappointed with that. 4) Drinks: 6.8/10 for selection. 10/10 for execution. While they don't have an exhaustive list compared to other places, they do execute their list well. Beer selection is not great, offering domestics and imports, and a tiny amount of craft brews. The wine list is small. I go here for their cocktails. Thecocktails are a little different, which is what I'm looking for. They have a couple unique cocktails that stand out from thecrowd. However, the beer, wine, and whiskey list can be improved. 5) Appetizers: 9.3/10 - the appetizer list was on thesmall/medium sized and all were very good. Flatbreads are very good and I'd get it again. The bread and butter that is servedimmediately is likely my favorite in the area. They only offer sourdough. Having a unique flavor and texture, the butter is thereal star here. It is loaded with a very good creamy onion/chive flavor that is the best in the area, IMO. No one else does itlike Trio does. 6) Food: 9.6/10 - Smaller selection that doesn't miss. Their salmon and chicken dishes are Read more

There's a good reason why Trio has survived for decades--consistently high quality contemporary American cuisine with attentive... wait staff. For this trip, we ordered the Thai chicken flatbread, half sandwich and soup -- short rib grilled cheese with sweetpotato fries and desserts -- carrot cake and bourbon chocolate layer cake. The main dishes were excellent and tasty. Thedesserts were fabulous, especially the carrot cake, which was moist (not too dry) with a nice hint of spiced sweetness. Thebroccoli gouda soup is a welcome change from the usual broccoli cheddar soup -- it was actually nice and less heavy than thelatter. Lots of parking and attentive wait staff. It's no surprise that Trio has its legion of fans keeping it open all thesedecades! Read more

Excellent hotel restaurant. We had driven in from Chicago and just needed a little bite. Our waitress was very friendly and... courteous. We asked to split the fish and chips. She brought 2 plates evenly dressed and made for each of us. This was apleasant surprise. The fresh pickerel fish was really good. We had breakfast in the concierge but did come into the restaurantfor our omelette and hot items. Adrienne made our eggs perfect with a smile every morning. The man running the coffee bar wasattentive and gave service with a smile. This was a great way to start our day. Immaculately clean, well stocked, great ambianceanytime of the day and good variety of food choices! the day and good variety of food choices! Read more

My Anniversary dinner was perfect! I couldn't have been happier! Undoubtedly the freshest shrimp cocktail and best fish I've had... in years, and the chocolate cake is so much more than the name implies! Service was spot on, in spite of being packed! Read more
