Nations has some awesome hamburgers and a wide variety of pies. In fact, it's a good thing Marie Calendar's closed down, because... now people get to find out how great the Pies at Nations really are! The breakfast menu is varied, and the food is prepared muchlike a short order cafeteria, not a high end restaurant. Iny opinion, that makes the food even better. They also offer simpleitems like hot dogs, grilled cheese, salmon, and chili. The food might take a while, but it's worth it. The lettuce and tomatoon the burgers are fresh, and the meat has great flavor. The fries are a little generic, but the onion rings are fabulous! It'sgreat to have Nations as part of our community! Pies are too sweet now. I am a Nation's "Lifer." I will eat here any day. Any time. But not this time! (I used to live in the... Bay and most frequently ate at the one in Oakland on Broadway. Also the one in Hayward down by Hwy 92.) Never. Ever in 12 or soyears have I had pies THIS dang sweet! I couldn't get anyone in my house to eat it. Even the pecan pie tastes like someonedumped a bag of sugar on it! Yuck yuck yuck! Read more

I am no stranger to "Nation's Giant Hamburgers" as I frequented many of their locations when I used to live in the Bay Area.... Since it had been well over two decades (my last time eating at one of their locations was around 1998-99), I figure I was duefor my Nation's fix. This takes me on a trip to the Sunrise Marketplace in Citrus Heights where I finally had the opportunitytrying their delicious burgers. Located directly on busy Sunrise Blvd. and just north of Madison Ave. in Citrus Heights, thisNation's location has been around since late-2011. Which is very surprising considering the amount of eateries that come and go;particularly in this part of town. I came here on the evening of Friday 8/27/2021 at around 6:45pm. Parking was very easy tofind and there were a ton of open spaces available. And many people may not know this; as of late-2021, this is the onlyNation's Giant Hamburgers in the Sacramento area with many of their locations in the Bay Area and a few locations in the SanJoaquin Valley. As far as the inside goes, this place is very spacious. Considering there was only one other customer dining induring my visit, the place had plenty of available seating throughout with a significant amount of tables and booths. I almostconsider the look and feel of this place resembling a small modern diner; especially since they specialize in sweet treats suchas their famous pies with over a dozen to choose from. They also have a large dedicated breakfast menu as well as chickensandwiches, fish burgers, BLT's, chili dogs, and of course what they are known for which is their standard burgers. Since Iwanted the burger experience, I went the simple route by ordering a plain "Hamburger" with everything on it, a side of fries anda drink. Total price came to around $12 (after tax). This place offers a self-serve fountain drink area and a condiment stationwhich includes ketchup and hot sauce. After my order was ready, I was ready to indulge to find out if this Read more

My first time at Nation's after hearing about it for years and I got to say it's exactly what I thought it was. Fairly priced... burgers, hot dogs, breakfast items and pie in a cozy diner setting. I ordered the regular hamburger and while I liked the sizeof the patty, it was hardly flavored at all. There's really no reason to come here over In-N-Out or Five Guys when they havetastier burgers for your $7. The pies weren't bad, but again nothing to write home about. Read more

Now if only Icould eat it but the taste and smell of onion makes me gag Read more

Very disappointed with our food. Only been to this location once for breakfast when it first opened maybe I'll just stick with... that. Ordered 2 bacon cheese burgers and they were un edible. There were crazy amounts of onion, lettuce, tomatoe and MAYO! Sowhen I bite everything slides out!!! I had to take my burger apart to try and eat it but again the Mayo was getting everywhereand the burger didn't taste well because it's a frozen patty smh just a complete waste of $40. Other burger was the same Read more

This place is awesome! Their prices are like Denny's but better quality with a sense on nostalgia. Very clean inside and their... hamburgers are HUGE. Pies are outstanding. I see people just walking in for their pies. An American treasure. Read more
