Richard and I had a reservation for 5pm on Aug, 18, 2022...we were a little concerned as the front desk had our last name but... didn't know where to seat us...10 minutes later we finally had a table. (Quite a few tables available) Bread came with frozenbutter. However, all got better with Matt and Samantha taking care of us. Hubby's salmon was awesome! My prime rib wasdelicious. Service was perfect!!! We had the pleasure of meeting Chef Mike Simpson, who had helped our grandson, Peyton, whenhe applied for a position. Discovered this little gold gem back in 2001. Been coming to eat here every year sometimes a couple times a year. Never had a... bad meal. Food is amazing every single time. Recommend to everyone when they are traveling to the Clayton area!!!! Read more
So good. It?s great to see such a good restaurant flourishing. We had Prime Rib and a Fillet, both so delicious and cooked to... perfection. All things important to us were done well. Clean, friendly, nice atmosphere and amazingly good food. A newaddition to our favorites list. Read more
The restaurant at the Clipper is fantastic! The seafood pasta and steak were cooked perfectly & delicious. Service was good,... too! Took off one star because we did stay at the hotel portion for 3 days and our room was extremely dirty. Dust &cobwebs/little spiders everywhere in it. However, nice quiet location. If you're just looking to eat at the restaurant - Ihighly recommend it! Read more
Diane and Jinny made our experience phenomenal!!! Diane was very informative and Jinny was on point with serving! We all loved... our Dinner, Filet, Prime Rob, Seafood Scampi and blackened Chicken Alfredo! It was my sis in law?s birthday and Diane made it agreat one! I highly recommend the Clipper! Very nice motel with hotel quality. Dog friendly- no carpets. Clean, quiet, NO smell! You can either run AC or open windows.... Nice neighborhood too. Took morning walk with my pup, enjoyed the flowers arrangements around the place. Close to river front,downtown Clayton. Read more
Excellent food, excellent service, great ambiance! Came in for an anniversary dinner and we?re very happy with our whole... experience. Our server was familiar with the menu and very friendly. We could tell she really liked working there which is agood sign. We had a reservation and came in on a Friday before the big rush right at 5pm. I had their prime rib (large cut)and it was awesome! My wife had their Boston cod and she loved it, too. They serve warm bread with dipping oil when you areseated, which is a nice touch. We each had their roasted veggie side and they were really good as well. The final nice touchwas the fact that they brought out a complimentary dessert since it was our anniversary. Our favorite restaurant in Northern New York, possibly all of New York. We love this place! The food and service are always top... notch and each visit we get to know the very talented chef/owner a little more as he never fails to drop by our table to ask howwe liked our meal.
