I don't often write review, but Gyro hut deserves one! They are fantastic at customer service. Each time I go, they are so... attentive and work so hard to make sure you are happy. One of my employees is very allergic to gluten, they order special shellsfor her, and also wipe the surfaces before making her food. They are good people and have great food. I came here a couple of times before writing the review. Before I get to the food I want to talk about the staff and the... building. The staff is impeccable! Everyone is courteous, professional, and very welcoming. They make me want to come back. AndI most definitely will. The building is across from the park at the edge of the lake and if you sit at the window you get astunning view of the park with the lake behind it. It had just snowed the day before my last visit and the view wasbeautiful. And the food: First tripmy partner and I each got a jumbo gyro and split large fries. It was bothe the gyro and thefries were huge and i was very satisfied with my choice. The gyro had tomato, onion, and plenty of tzatziki sauce. I always askfor extra sauce though because I love tzatziki and dip my fries in it. Second time we went we tried a number of differentthings. I got the regular lamb gyro, my partner got the lamb gyro deluxe. Both were awesome. Both were awesome and my partnerloved the toppings on the delux. The pita was soft and fresh. We also got a few tacos. We are both originally from California sowe have been missing authentic Mexican food since moving to Iowa. I gotta say this is the best Mexican food I have had so far inIowa. I had the birria, chrizo, and chicken tacos. All were great and the birria came with a cup of consume which was delicious.It came with 2 salsas mild and hot. The hot wasn't too hot but had a little kick. I love spicy food and hope they make one evenhotter in the future. We also had a 2 piece fried chicken with white meat which was a breast and wing. The fried chicken wasvery unique and the skin was incredibly crisp and perfectly rendered. It tasted like chicken chicharron. The chicken also camewith fries and cole slaw. I thought the cut of the fries was very interesting and fun. I would highly recommend Gyro Place toanyone looking for delicious, fresh, well made food at a fantastic price. I ordered the Gyro with fries and a drink and my wife ordered the tenderloin with fries and a drink. The tenderloin is huge!... This could have easily been two tenderloin sandwiches! My wife loved the sandwich! The Gyro was good too! I would definitelyorder it again! Great service, friendly staff...this place will be a place that we come back to in the future! Read more
We were tired after a long day, but our dinner was excellent. Hubby had lamb gyro salad. He would have enjoyed more lettuce but... it was good, dark greens, and the meat was perfectly seasoned. Happy hubby … priceless! I had 3 crunchy gyro tacos. I forgotto order added lettuce, but still wonderful !! I ordered both mild (taco) sauce and cucumber sauce on the side and only usedthe cuc.sauce. It was perfect. Loved the personality of having the staff (management?)‘s children come out from the back roomas we sat there. Heart warming to be around young families! Read more
