Wow! What a great needle in the haystack! This little gem of a restaurant did not disappoint. The owner was great to speak... with,and the food was dynamite! The portobello appetizers were fantastic, my ribeye was awesome, and my daughter's ribs weredelicious. We will definitely return someday. Worth every penny. Read more
If you want an out of the way place and a great steak dinner this place is for you! The outside looks like a house and may throw... you off but inside it opens into a nice dining room with a soft ambiance. The food is delicious! If this corner cafe was located in the middle of a city, with some of the food locally grown and all personally prepared by an... expert chef- there would be a waiting list, no place to park and the menu would be a lot pricier. Instead, it is THE best placeto eat in rural Northwest Missouri even though it is the only restaurant in Clearmont! Read more

The pork tenderloin was absolutely fantastic! The selection of beers were wonderful. Will definitely come back to try the steak.
Before you read the novel below, I will summarize within the first couple sentences. We had heard about this small hole-in-the... wall place and read rave reviews prior to reserving our table for a birthday celebration about a week in advance. We reservedfor 4pm on a Sunday. 2 stars because 2 out of the 5 steaks ordered were cooked as ordered and were delicious. Other factors werethe level of service received not limited to just not keeping drinks full, communicating lack of menu items, and being friendlyin general. When we arrived it was to our surprise it was empty..no one else waiting/seated at the restaurant. It appeared tohave one employee working, who happened to be the owner it turns out. We were seated and asked for drink orders and brought cansof pop, and told that Dr. pepper would have gone bad before it could get used so they didn't carry it. No big deal. Ordered afull spread of appetizers, didn't receive one item, asked about it and it was made and brought out. No big deal. Drinks wereempty almost the entire time despite being the only table in the place and we were hardly checked on. Everyone ordered Rib Eyesteaks except kids and one person ordered sirloin. We were told he was out of 10oz, so had to "upgrade" to a 12oz. All steakswere supposed to be medium rare. We were still the only people at the restaurant at this point...40 minutes later. The kids'items came out first, smart move. Then came my 12 oz steak which was burnt on edges, about 1/2" thick, and Well Done. Then, outcame the 16oz rib eye and it was 3/4-1" thick, juicy and cooked to medium rare. As ordered. Then came my husbands steak, a 14ozcooked medium well and also about 1/2" thick the lobster tail was probably a 2oz tail and served meat side down on a leaf oflettuce...cold in the center. Then came the other 14oz that was about 3/4" thick, juicy and undercooked. Then came the birthdaygirl's 16oz and it was about 1/2" thick and well done.
