Chicken and waffles were the clear winner. Crispy honey fried chicken was moist and tender, the bacon was the perfect level of... crunchy and the waffle was fluffy on the inside. I enjoyed the shrimp and grits, but next time will ask for the red-eye gravy onthe side. It was good but very smokey and overpowered the dish about half way in. I took the leftovers home and did enjoy themfor lunch the next day. My picky daughter had the Hunka Burning Love pancakes. She liked everything but the fried bananas. Small but comfy. The order took a bit longer than I?d like, but they had a huge Uber eats order before me so it didn?t bother... me. The main thing is, the food was AMAZING. I got the chicken and waffles and I have to say, that this was the best chicken andwaffles I?ve ever had. The breading was crispy but not greasy, the bacon huge, and the waffle tasty. I'm a little torn in this review because I feel like The Chef's Table is on the edge of greatness, but not quite there. That... being said, I'm giving it 5 stars despite the bumps, because overall, it was a great eating experience. My wife had the steakand eggs, and they were cooked perfectly, although the steak could have used just a little more salt. I had the gruyere shrimpand grits, which were somewhat of a mixed bag. The seasoning overall was a nicely balanced heat with little bursts of juicinesswhen biting into a pepper, but the cheese was lost entirely in the flavor, the shrimp were overcooked and a bit chewy, and the"poached" egg was over hard, with the yolk a bright yellow fully cooked hard ball. These bumps made what I think would have beena truly great dish instead only good. I'm hoping this was a one off, and will be trying their food again, since between themenu, reviews, and photos, I think Chef's Table has the potential to be one of those hidden gems of haute cuisine. And if thategg had been actually poached, and the shrimp cooked to tenderness, I would have been raving that this was the best shrimp andgrits I'd had outside of NOLA. Read more
Lunch was great today! We had purchased a restaurant.com gift certificate. The reviews both on that site and on Google are... astounding. We were excited because they have received mostly 5 star reviews. The best part of our experience was that the chefcame to welcome us and catered to the kids with special Capri Sun drinks. This is a hidden gem. The restaurant is decoratedsuper cute and has a nice relaxing atmosphere. The staff is very friendly. The food was delicious. We were impressed. Wedefinitely will be back. The food was great. My mom and I got Curry Chicken with rice and vegetables and a yogurt sauce. I had not had a curry chicken... plate in years. The taste was perfect. He made the plate mild for us. The chef spent about 20 minutes preparing our food. Heprovided everything we needed. The lemonade was homemade. They had many cool chef specials. Loaded mac n cheese. Shrimp andsteak skewers. Seafood alfredo. The Chef opened his doors early to us. He let us have lunch before normal hours. I appreciatewhat he did for us I think this is a perfect place for a high quality plate at a not so high cost. The only complaints wouldbe that my soda was flat but he refunded the soda and admitted the soda was flat. I also think this place could be a littlecleaner. Read more
This place is easily one of the best places to eat in Clearwater! The "Cafe" name is somewhat misleading, since the menu size... and and quality is above and beyond many big restaurants. With options varying from Meatloaf sandwiches and Pineapple Mahi Mahi(Pictures below) to Jerk Chicken pasta, Juicy burgers and so much more. I fully intend on visiting regularly and trying it alleventually. Great family staff, cozy environment, and excellent food! What more can I say? Read more
11/13 Went here to try the steak sandwich but it wasn't on the menu. I order the spicy jerk chicken sandwich. Bam!... Flavor-town. Delicious. (if you can't handle a little spicy, you may need to ask but for me it was great.) 12/14 Went againand had the seafood pasta from the specials board. Delicious. The sauce was creamy and cheesy and maybe a bit too heavy butthis dish was amazing. Couldn't finish it. Had the rest of it the next day and cut the pasta with some garlic lemon buttersauce and it was great. 1/15/21 Get the tomato bisque!
