I have mixed feelings about this place. The food was mostly good with a few issues. For example, my French toast was delicious... but the home fries were very soft and undercooked. The service was fast and friendly, but the environment was not super clean. The first noticeable point of this was the front door not being very clean with smudges all over it. We saw numerous tablesbeing cleaned where the cleaning was just moving the dishes and not actually wiping the table down before a new customer wouldbe seated. This was noticeable for our table too as there were crumbs on it when we were seated. The floors also were not veryclean. There were plenty of straws and straw paper and even some silverware that was on the floor and had not been picked up. Ialmost was willing to overlook this except my friend was given dirty silverware. There were marks on his spoon. Also, the layoutof the restaurant is too open and inclusive. There’s almost no space between tables and it felt like I was in some sort ofcafeteria. The food was good but the overall experience was not what I had wanted. Read more

We recently moved to Virginia Beach and since I keep house all week (cooking/cleaning) my boyfriend likes to treat me on the... weekends. As a result, we have been checking out the local restaurants. I am a foodie (and chef) that has been GF long before itwas "cool". Ya know, before most of you had ever heard of gluten (back in the 90s). Just trying to preface in case you arelooking for suggestions, I suggest following me. Or, click on my name and read my reviews. I was in the mood for pancakes thismorning, so we didn't go back to Commune (????). The wait was shorter than anticipated. Our waitress, Cassie, appeared quicklyand was both friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered corn beef hash, scrambled eggs, GF toast with grape jelly, and a side of gfpancakes. P ordered some sort of omelette that came with pancakes and a coffee. Once again the toast came out dry. ???? Idkythey don't butter toast here in VA. ??????????? Cassie quickly brought me some butter and I was able to try the toast. Whitebread, tasted pretty stale. Hard, thick, not for me. Next I went for the corned beef hash. The corned beef was very tasty but Iwas a bit disappointed that there was only a few shavings of potato. No onion or peppers. Still, the beef was good and wentwell with my scrambled eggs. ???? The gf pancakes.... while they were far superior to the awful cornbread ones at the lastpancake house, still left much to be desired. Think biscuits. They could have used some gravy instead of the maple flavored cornsyrup on the table. Beware of the syrup dispenser. It requires two hands to pour and comes out FAST. My boyfriend's syrupquickly flowed onto the table. ???? Peter's non gf food was good. The coffee was strong just the way he likes it.???? Overall, maybe skip the gf bread/pancakes and get something else. We liked that the portions weren't massive too. Enoughfood to satisfy yet didn't leave us feeling stuffed and wanting to do nothing else. Read more

Sunnyside is a terrific brunch spot in Clemson. It is super busy but that didn't stop the food coming out quickly. Our service... was great and so was the food. I strongly recommend the Sunnyside breakfast if you want a savoury and sweet meal. I will becoming back here again if I am in town! Read more

Great experience. Our server was great. However, some of the other servers around us just didn't seem as friendly. Our eggs... were slightly overcooked, but no biggie. Portion sizes are spot on. You won't leave hungry for sure. Read more

Look forward to faring this place every time I’m in Clemson. Small quaint brunch/lunch cafe. The food is amazing. I’ve had... their breakfast and Huevos rancheros nachos. The local chorizo they use is the best I have ever had. Definitely worth a try. Ialso love the coffee they serve, It is from a local roaster in Travelers Rest SC. Please give this spot a try it won’tdisappoint. Read more

This was my first visit but definitely won't be the last. When we arrived we could see they were busy. We were immediately... greeted and told there was around a 20 minute wait which we were fine with. So they took our info and we walked around until wegot a text letting us know the table was ready. I ordered the Appalachian and my son got the eggs benedict. It all tasteddelicious and fresh and the service was great. Definitely a place to try out. Read more
