The reason I give one star is its HYGIENE problem and the poor way the manager treats her customers. The restaurant was pretty... empty when I went there for lunch. After ordering and receiving the teriyaki fish bento box, I took a picture of the meal tosend to a friend. Unfortunately, as I was about to eat, I noticed the plate was very dirty. I brought this to the attention ofthe server, who apologized and offered to make the food again. The second time, I noticed something odd: the same piece of fishand the same rolls had merely been transferred to a new place. I just happened to have a photo of the first time the food wasserved and confirmed with the waitress that the same exact food had in fact on the second plate. The waitress apologized againand took the second plate to kitchen. After a few minutes, an old woman came to me said that they ate my food and they wouldn?tcook another meal for me. Then she asked me to leave. Shocked, I asked to speak to a manager, only to find out that she IS themanager! I will never consume food at a restaurant that doesn?t take hygiene seriously. Would you want to eat at anestablishment that kicks out a customer who simply asks to eat off of a clean plate? Read more

Had a soft shell crab (banzai) roll that tasted fishy, mushy, and horrible... I took one bite and spit it out. Waitress came and... took the plate, came back with the bill and told me I will still be charged per the manager. Manager comes over, I explain thesituation and she says that they can't take something off my bill just because I don't like it and there was nothing wrong withthe roll. Said they're a "small business" and her resolution was to pack up the roll that was carried away with dirty dishes andtrash for me to take home. NEVER RETURNING. Read more

We love authentic Japanese cuisine, and regret not coming back to this wonderful restaurant sooner, now that we are out and... about. The food is very fresh and delicious, and there are some sushi preparations I just don't see in other Clevelandrestaurants. The Yakitori appetizer was great, but the soft shell crab and soft shell shrimp appetizers were exceptional. Theomakase dinner was masterfully prepared with excellent selections and excellent flavor. My son loved his teriyaki steak. Onetip: they serve no alcohol here, but you can carry in - and the Western Reserve Wines keeps a selection of good sake chilled andready to go, right next door.
