One of the absolute best meals I have ever had in Philly. Walking in, you get the sense that this place hasn't changed since it... opened in the 1960s. They even use the original menus as place mats with the original prices still listed! Although the cost ofseafood has changed since then you won't regret a single penny spent at the Clam Tavern. The staff was attentive and wonderful, the drinks were sublime and the seafood was simply to die for. If you're looking for a classic and delicious way to spend anevening look no further. Read more

The atmosphere of the Clam Tavern is fabulous and the servers are always friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. We usually go on... the weekend and later in the evening, but we stopped by around 4:30 on a Thursday and were delighted to find that they haveamazing appetizers on happy hour special prices. We had clams casino (always one of their specialties), fried mozzarella bites, and crab balls. The clams casino (always delicious and one of Clam Tavern's specialties) were phenomenal and the crab balls, which I haven't had before, are now on my list to get every time I go!! For dinner, I had the stuffed shrimp with baked potatoand broccoli. The stuffed shrimp was had generous portions, the baked potato had a crispy skin with coarse salt on the outside, and the broccoli was perfectly cooked at that "hard-to-achieve" juncture of tender and crunchy. I didn't take any photos topost, but I can tell you that none of the items I have ever had there have disappointed me. Read more

What hasn't been said about the legendary Clam Tavern already? A Delco mainstay for decades, it was a date spot for my parents... when we'd visit my grandparents in Media and Collingdale (RIP Clam Tavern II). The baked clams are absolutely mandatory (Iordered 2 dozen), the steaks are A+ and the lobster tails are perfectly sweet. The bartender mixed a delicious Moscow Mule whichI ordered on a whim (I'm a beer guy). Girlfriend loved the coleslaw and I'm never disappointed by their baked potatoes. I alwaysbring a cup of their New England clam chowder home to compliment whatever is in my doggy bag the next day. Read more
