Me and a friend are driving to the CWS in Omaha and came upon this gem of a BBQ on our way. Was thinking about waiting till we... got to KC to eat but so glad we stopped at Shawnee?s BBQ! Don?t let the exterior slow you down because their food wasoutstanding. Must admit I was a little disappointed when they just sold out of the last order of burnt ends. Oh well, guess I?lljust try their meat sampler platter. Ribs, brisket, ham and a phenomenal hot sausage link. Yes please! Couple those with crispytots, solid coleslaw and very thick and flavorful baked beans. Highly recommend this gem. I ate at Shawnee Mound BBQ on July 26th, 2017 with a couple of friends, this was a new place, within the last 12 mos. We showed... up late and missed the lunch crowd, but we couldn't get everything we wanted, because they were out. I enjoyed their KitchenSink, (sloppy joe) type BBQ sandwich and my friends had ham and sausage. Everything was good, I really liked their horseradishcoleslaw. The fries and beans were OK. I'd like to see them expand their menu, burnt ends were only available Fri - Sun. Theysold individual drinks. BBQ should have a soda fountain. I didn't see cheesey corn, nor corn nuggets, nor fried pickles nomushrooms, but they're new and I expect they'll offer more as time goes on. Read more
Stopped by on a road trip and they were busy when we walked in. We were welcomed right away and told he would be with us soon.... The man was hustling and I appreciate that! We ordered the ribs and the chicken. The main courses were incredible and just felloff the bones. It had a wonderful smoke flavor and was cooked to a perfect temp. We got messy and enjoyed every bite. The sideswere amazing with some of the best BBQ Beans I have had. Would suggest a stop if you are in the area! Read more
