The Gyro's here taste good! but boy was it the most expensive and messiest lunch ive ever had in my life! I got a single gyro,... and I paid 13$ for essentially 4 slices of lamb/gyro meat, a slice of cucumber and onion, and a piece or two of lettuce. Thetzatziki was mostly on the wrapper it came in. Enough on the outside to drench two wrappers and my desk in it. No fry's or adrink. Would probably go back, but not for lunch. Read more

I understand that the restaurant business is brutal business. But that doesn?t change the fact that our other jobs are hard as... well. This is the worst food presentation and preparation I have seen. They just dumped the food in a box and sent it out. Therice proportionally larger than the other food items listen in the menu. They just poured it on top making it look like largeportion sizes. I only saw like 4 pickle pieces and 3 strands of chicken. The only reason I gave them a second star is cuz mybaby brother for some reason liked the shawarma. Even though it looked like mush ball. We really enjoyed our visit here! The food was expertly made, and delivered by friendly knowledgeable staff. The owner was... there and came to the table several times to check on how our experience was going. I had the gyro, and was delighted to seeone of my fast food faves, elevated to a truly gourmet level. It was meaty and featured condiments that were unique andflavorful with an array of great textures. The owner asked how everything was and suggested that we try the Turkish coffee. Wedid and even on a hot Summer afternoon, I really enjoyed this tasty drink that I had never had before. I will be back toexplore the rest of this terrific menu. Read more

I am glad we went to have dinner here today and met MJ the amazing host. We had Chicken Shawarma and Salad, Falafel it was... delicious. Baklava?s won my heart!! Just had the best lunch I have had in a long time. I thought this was a new restaurant but found out they just moved and but... been established for 18 years in Des Moines. The humus was probably the best humus I?ve had in Des Moines. We stopped in justafter the lunch rush so we received a little extra attention with it being a little slower which was nice. Karren (I believe hername was) shared with us how they prepare their food which was a nice touch. Very friendly. I?m super excited to have foundthis restaurant that is close to my office. It?s a small, contemporary feel and the food is great quality. Not that frozenprocessed stuff you can find dinning out. I?d recommend starting with hummus and ending with the baklava with Turkish coffee. We had the jalapeño chicken wrap and the garlic chicken wrap. Both extremely flavorful. Chicken was very tender. Love coming here! MJ Gazali is always very warm and welcoming to the people that come in. More of a people-focused restaurant,... Sinatra plays softly in the background and it's easy to forget that you're in Clive, Iowa as the outside world is hidden behindfrosted windows. Now on to the food!
