Wow. This is now my favorite Indian place and I don't even live anywhere near it. It was Happy's in Ripon, CA for the last... year+ because of the sheer amazing taste, but I think these folks have Happy's beat (met the ownerchef, really nice this pastweek, as he checked on us and made sure all was good). Ordered Chicken Tikka Masala extra spicy, some chicken pakora, riceand garlic naan. Normally, when a curry is really spiced up, some of the amazing flavors that normally fire off all taste budcylinders go by the way-side some since it can overwhelm a bit. Not theirs. It was off the charts flavorful and had all kindsof goodness in the kick. Had a really nicer thicker consistency and solid quality tender chicken too. Sauces for the ChickenPakora were also on point, as was the garlic naan, and rice, nothing special average there, but no issues. Happy's in Ripon, there Pakora is a bit more robust in size, but flavor profiles very similar. This is now on my short list when visitingfriends in Clovis. YUM! Also, the staff and owner were very humble, kind and served our party very nicely! :) Read more

Since I moved from the Bay Area , I’ve been looking for an authentic tasty Indian food and I could say I finally found it here... in fresno. This restaurant is located at a prestigious neighborhood in fresno. Their food is so delicious ???? and spicy ????.Their customers service is so superb and professional. harvinder was the person who took care of my and he was so kind andfriendly . The chef himself notified me that my food would take time to be ready cause I ordered a whole tandoori chicken andit’s very understandable which means they literally cook fresh food ???? Highly recommend this place and their prices areaffordable in comparison to others .. I ordered Chicken Sagg which is one of my favorite , and tandoori chicken .. delicious???? Read more

Very unprofessional service. This is an incident from July 2, 2022. Visiting Fresno, we came to this place for dinner. 20... minutes in and no table service. Then, an Indian waitress came by and apologized for the delay since a waiter was off-duty andthe restaurant was busy ( from what we observed, there were 2 other tables apart from us). We said that’s not a problem andbegan ordering. Disclaimer: The rest of this review is really about the service from the waitress and might not reflect thequality of service from other waiters. We ordered a bunch of items (appetizers, beverage, curry and breads) and the waitresssaid that 1 curry wouldn’t suffice for the table (we were 3 adults) - she forced us to order more 3 times. We said we willorder later if required. That’s when the fiasco started - the waitress insisted we order right away and that we will not beallowed to order later (the restaurant had 3 good hours to close). We then said we will be fine with what we ordered already andshe forced us to order more. Then she commented that it is worthless for her to wait the table when such quantities are orderedand made a face with a “go to hell” expression. This was, by far, the rudest service we have gotten in our lives. Wecancelled the order and left. Amidst all this, there was a party of 6 that came in and was impolitely chased out of therestaurant quoting “busy” and “can’t handle” by the same waitress. There were empty tables available. For what it’sworth, take your business to “Curry out Clovis” in the same area - same cuisine, less pricey but wonderful food and people! Read more

The food was amazing. Interestingly, very authentic, and yet not overly seasoned. I've had Indian before, but it seemed... overwhelmingly seasoned. This place cooks with fresh ingredients, and it's simply flavorful. Unlike other Indian restaurants, when you walk in to Slice of India, the odors are enjoyable, not overwhelming. The lady owner could be seem unfriendly, butshe's nice and proud of her dishes. This place is a most definitely must try! Read more

Since changing my eating habits, I have avoided eating out due to not being able to find much that fit my needs, until tonight. ... I AM IN HEAVEN!!!! The menu is absolutely amazing! So many healthy options that fit my needs. They have Vegetarian and Veganoptions and they label the appropriately. The flavor is out of this world. I am so grateful and happy!!! The Mushroom Mattar isincredible with the Indian cucumber salad and whole wheat Nan!!!! Beyond impressive! Read more

For those who had never been to Slice of India, please read on; for those of you who had been to the restaurant, I think you can... resonate on my experience. The first time me and my family dined in at Slice of India, frankly we were a little intimidated bythe lady who tend to our table. She was stern and did not smile during our conversation, and we thought she was mad or in a badmood. When the food arrive, we were surprised by how good everything tasted. The portions are big and we tried our best tofinish as much as we can (since food was SO GOOD) but we had to take some home. We return again and again shortly after and weget more acquainted with the lady who serve us every time we visited. She is a very nice and kind person with a strongpersonality. She always provided prompt service and provided great recommendations as well. Interior of this place clean andwell organized, and it was decorated similarly to a typical Indian restaurants. From our past experience, only suggestion I haveis it’d be great if the wait time for food can be shortened. However, I know that all orders are made fresh and that’sprobably why it took some time for each order to be prepared. Overall, great food, clean interior, combined with promptservice, I’d recommend anyone to give Slice of India a try. Read more
