I'm a regular to Ashland for breakfast. It's close to work and has a down home feel. My go to is scrambled eggs and cheese with... a order of bacon and homefries. The bacon is always on point. Unique joint & the company is ferocious. I like that's there's a smooth watering hole for radiant cougars this side of the... Potomac. I've been going here with my family for more than 10 years. Out of all the restaurants in the Hunt valley cockeysville area,... Ashland Cafe hands down has the best breakfast as well as a good sports and entertainment viewing area in their main restaurant.I've never sat outside but I noticed their outdoor seating is comfortable and well spread out. Occasionally they have live musicas well as trivia and other things to entertain. All the traditional food is good but I go for breakfast all the time and thatis where it really stands out with variety and quality and I have hardly ever had to wait more than 10 minutes for food. Great place, we sat outside and it was wonderful, Joyce was wonderful and the crab cake was amazing. The patio was very clean... and pleasant. Great atmosphere and food. We really enjoyed this wonderful lunch. Read more
From rhe outside parking lot, the place looks like a convience store. Inside was eh, but outdoor seating looked more... inviting. They did have a good selection on their menu and prices were decent. My husbands himefries came out cold although thetop was hot ans the plate was hot which made it seemed it was from a microwave! And to top it off, it was brought out 6 minutesbefore our breakfast came out. When our food came I requested a new plate of home fries and the waitress said ok and explainedshe was sorry she had forgot to put it in the original order and had to place a seperate order for that. When the new home friescame out, it was night and day these were fresh and hot and much more on the plate then before. The french toast tasted likethey were frozen french toast and not fresh home made ones. Now WE NEVER SAW THE WAITRESS AGAIN!!! The check was left under oneof the plates of food. My family has been going to Ashland for years. we have even organized large gatherings there. one for the gathering after my... father's funeral for example. we also would go every week for trivia with a group and buy dinner and drinks. so, it is safe tosay we have brought a lot of business into this establishment. Sadly, over the past few years the food and the service has gonedownhill. I stopped going a while ago due to the poor service. My mother continued to go with a group of friends every weekendfor the music and dancing, but she informed me that she is has become unhappy with the service, especially from the bartenderMax. he apparently has been removing the reserved table sings that the staff put up for my mother and her friends, and he putsreserved signs with no names on it, when my mother or her friends arrive, he refuses to let them sit where they have asked to beseated. Max has stated he is saving the tables for his " favorite regular customers, that spend money on drinks". while mymother may not drink, she does order food while there, so money is still being spent. this bartender has been rude on numerousoccasions to not only my mother but others in her party. For a restaurant that's business is based on word of mouth and repeatcustomers, I think they may want to think about how they treat the people who have been loyal to them over the years. Read more
