Sorry - no pics... we were too busy eating! My friend had the lamb vindaloo and I had the saag Paneer. We split the vegetable... samosa and vegetable pakora and an order of butter naan. My paneer was very tasty... The saag was a bit more firm than I've hadbefore, but that could just be the style. Her vindaloo was excellent. She ordered medium spicy and it was a bit too much heatfor her, but I thought it was great. The pakora and samosa were fresh off the stove and delicious. I didn't care for the naan,but everything else was excellent. Just a note - this is more of a take out / delivery place. They have 2 tables but if you'relooking for atmosphere, this isn't the place. Such an amazing place! Modest seating with a big taste. The owners are very sweet and hospitable. We came at a very busy time... but they made sure we were well taken care of. Went on a day that I think the indoor seating was closed - was going to order takeout but was offered a seat to dine-in so we... took it. The food was very delicious, super flavorful and tasty and the serving size is great. Totally extra for left overs:-) English was not understood super well so there was a little difficulty understanding each other at times. When you need home cooked comfort food, Makalu definitely is up there in value and taste. A small nondescript place at... colchester should not be mistaken for the power packed goodness of the taste and flavors that the food gets. We tried theirThukpa soup, dal, aloo gobi and some chicken dishes and each of them had their own unique flavor, texture and spices and curatedto your taste.
