be prepared for an extremely long wait time. We came around 2 pm and the food came out for us around 2:45 pm. We had to ask for... basic things like water and crayons for our daughter. But we definitely noticed that people who came after us got their foodbefore ours was ready. We sat around for 40 minutes before our menus were taken away. Why would we wait 40 minutes for a soupto be brought out? Definitely a miss for us and never going to come back. Place seems to be messy and disorganized and theyneed to hire some more help in the back. We decided to stop by because of the good reviews but don?t be misled. The staff was very kind and accommodating. I ordered a canned cider and was great, however the food was not great for the listed... price, stuffing of mushrooms was bland and the texture kept of sticking to the mouth and teeth. Mussels and clams although in asauce tased steamed. Oysters Rockefeller we're the highlight of the meal. Great service the food.... Not so much. First off...staff is quick reliable and friendly. Second... drinks are strong and soooo good! Food... Husband said these are the... best oysters he has had. Coconut shrimp was flavorful and taste! Caesar salad was flavored with anchovies just the way I likeit. Main course.... I got the best steak and spud that a girl can ask for.... like omg it hit the spot. Hubby had rib with grillcheese which he won't shut up about and aunt had a grill chicken arugula salad. My husband and I are not from Cold springs, myaunt is. We r city kids who love to eat. Stopped by J Murphy?s for a post hike lunch in Cold Spring. Usually hang out in town after hikes and am glad that a new spot... opened up at this Main St building. The space looks welcoming Food was great and the staff was on point. Looking forward tocoming back next time we?re in town. Read more
Located at the top of Main Street. A great place to eat after hitting many of the hiking trails in the area Enjoyed the food,... nothing fancy, great burgers. Nice ambience, cozy & dimly light, which I like. I would definitely go back. Read more
My wife and I can to J. MURPHY?s for the first time and I can?t say enough to recommend such friendly place, the food was... fantastic. I had the Incredible burger and it blew my socks off. Then we walk down Main Street to visit the shops and continueddown to the water front. J. MURPHY?s is the place to go. Read more
Absolutely enjoy a meal at J. Murphy's during any visit to Cold Springs. So disappointing to read the negative reviews... commenting on the wait time. When visiting Cold Springs during a busy time of the year or especially during Fall Foliage at it'speak, really what do you expect? Clearly the town is extremely crowded & this will happen !! We put our name on their list, thewomen stated it would be an hour wait so we walked around by the time we got back she had just called to tell us our table wasready. Simple !! Our meal was amazing as always, the best fish & waffle chips I've had in ages ! The staff as well are amazingjust so attentive & serves you with a smile !
