Yummy but overpriced. However, everything is overpriced these days, so perhaps I'm wrong. If you want good food, the food won't... disappoint. Besides, I think most people just go to places like this to impress their girlfriend in hopes to, *ahem "get lucky"anyway. If sushi does the trick, there's good sushi here. We stopped on a lark and noticed the 50% off sushi special. Itried one of their combo plates was very happy with the design and amount of food for the price. The miso soup was good as wellas the California Roll ordered. Hadn't been here in years but decided to come for sushi. We ordered the Sayaka boat for two. It came with tons of sushi and ... sashimi which was nicely displayed. I like my sushi colder. We also got a very basic salad. Soup which my husband liked, verysmall Bay scallops and shrimp and various tempura items. It was good but the service from the waitress was nonexistent and thenat the end, she added a 15% tip for herself and if you didn't check the receipt first, you might tip again because the tip didnot show up on the merchant copy. I think this was sneaky and we generally tip 20+% so she lost out. Also, all the menus andcounter tops/table tops had a sticky feel. The sushi here is really good and the kids meals are served in a cute boat. The wait time can be a bit long but once you're... seated, the customer service is good. If you don't feel like waiting, you can call the restaurant and make a reservation. Read more

Not sure what happened with this place!? Went for dinner. Reservations only for tappan grill ???? walk ins can only sit at sushi... bar. Okay, cool... no worries. They offer full menu there too. My daughter is not a sushi fan. The sushi bar had lots of seatsopen but they were all filled with the prior guest dishes. Waited 5 mins as servers walked by is to clean up the mess. We had toask them to do so. Then the server cleared the dishes and tried to seat us without wiping anything off. Really!? Needless tosay, service sucked. It was interesting to watch behind the scenes.... the sushi rolls which were set out to be picked up by theservers sat for awhile, a long while. Behind the sushi counter everyone was hopping over a huge puddle of water on the floorbecause the drains were clogged. It was a mess behind the counter a mayonaise bottle sat behind the counter (see pic) the entire1.5 hours we were there. Actually several cream bases dressings were sitting out. Some of the rolls tasted like pure mayonnaisebecause there was so much sauce. I could keep going on, but you get the point. This used to be the best around but I'm afraid itis being poorly ran and the employees need extensive training. My husband to the hostesses when we left that if they were nottoo consumed on there phones, to relay a message to the manager. I'm sure they blew him off and didn't relay the message. Read more
