Reviews for Pho La Cay in Columbia, MD
Service was awesome and polite, food came out quickly and was super yummy! The pho was unforgettable, and I will be coming back... in the future! May be my new go to pho place! Read more
I think this is the best pho in this area! We tried normal pho, spicy pho, and papaya salad with grilled shrimp. Everything was... real good. Tasty broth, I don't have to add anything. Service was excellent too. My daughter was sick when we came the firsttime. They even offered fresh ginger to put in water hoping to make her feel better. Highly recommend! Read more
I used to really enjoy coming here, especially for the banh mi. However, the last few times I've come I noticed that the food... tastes a bit bland. It had been a while since my past visits so perhaps they changed cooks or ownership? Particularly the moretraditional Vietnamese dishes which rely heavily on the Nouc Cham. The dressing (Nouc Cham) is very plain, you can tell in thephoto as there's no evidence of chili peppers or garlic; the spring rolls (Cha Gio) taste like they're purchased frozen andheated on-site. The vermicelli noodles I had were overcooked. They also removed the Banh Xeo from their menu, which was mywife's favorite. The portions are well-sized but every dish is expensive. There are nearby Viet restaurants that are bothcheaper and with more flavorful dishes. Not sure we'll be visiting much in the future. Still providing 3 stars since otherdishes do remain good, just not the ones we generally come for. Read more
Love this place but noticed that when I order on grub hub I get skimped. I love summer rolls and the peanut sauce that goes with... it even more. I ordered two orders of summer rolls and got one peanut sauce which honestly annoys me because the rolls withoutthe sauce aren?t the same. I guess if I want Vietnamese food I?m going to have to drive there and check that I don?t getskimped. Read more
The broth is good. I like the egg noodles and the red pork. The staff is nice. The restaurant is clean
No wait time to seat if you're there before dinner time. The wait time after you order depends on what food you're choosing that... time. Our order this time: Pho Tai, large, as delicious as always with fresh ingredients all are perfect in bowl. Ricedishes: R1, crispy fried chicken with tomato rice and ginger sauce: the chicken is truly crispy and crunchy skin and the gingersauce is differently delicious. Stir Fried Noodles MX1, crispy noodles with seafood, meatballs and vegetables topping. This isalways our favorite, the noodles stay crispy and very light while you're eating them. Ask for liquid pepper or spicy oil to eatwith all, especially the fried chicken and the noodles. *I always bring my own hot peppers, fresh and raw, to eat with soup orany dishes, but this time I forgot so the owner offer the liquid pepper. The liquid pepper taste hot and spicy, perfect for thefood. 5 Stars for food and service. 5 Stars for seating spacing experience, if it's not too crowded they will let you seatwith great distances, but we never there when it's too too crowded. Everything was good. The food of my people representing in Columbia. I was looking for some banh mi but didn?t want to try the... overpriced hippy places. So I found this and made the drive. It did not disappoint. I was hungry so I ordered the banh mi coldcut and the bun bo hue. My gf had the curry chicken noodles the flavor were good too. If you haven?t tried any other Vietnamesedish try Bun Bo Hue to add some extra spice in yo life instead of eating pho all the time. Read more
Got a large takeout order of pho. Portion was good and food was delicious, but it was almost $16 and I've gotten similar... portions for takeout for as low as $12.50 in the past few months, so I will definitely be going elsewhere in the future aftertrying this place. No complaints other than the price being higher than other pho places I've been trying. Note: I added my ownjalapenos from home in the picture, pho doesnt come with that many of them. Read more
