This place is absolutely fantastic! I haven?t been here in years, but tonight was just as excellent as I remember from years... ago! The service is unmatched. Our friend was joining us, so we ordered for him so when he got here the food would come soon orat the same time. His miso soup of course came quickly, so the waitress offered to replace his soup when he got there so itwould be warm for him. So nice and thoughtful! The manager and owner stopped by to check how everything was, and offered ourfriend a chair to prop up his leg because he is on crutches. Again, the service is amazing! Second time visiting this place! I recommend calling in advance during weekends (because it?s super busy) first time went on a... Wednesday night. I?m giving 5 stars because their rolls are amazing! ?Warm to the Soul? and ?Spicy Grilled Roll? being our toprolls so far ???? The vibe is really nice, with that very Japanese traditional tea house ambiance. Please be very mindful thatweekends are busy and some rolls might take a little bit more than others, but the wait it?s rewarded! ???????? I stumbled upon this little gem of a restaurant. The owner and the staff were absolutely wonderful! They were attentive,... friendly, gave a cozy/family-style feel, and best of all?. Get in the ring with Sushi King! The food will knock you out! We dined there for lunch and it was an extremely tasty time and... definitely worth the trip. The staff were very personable, friendly and helpful. From appetizer to desert, each item wasspecially prepared. The ginger dressing for the salad was wonderful. The shumai and gyozo melted in your mouth. I especiallyliked the Holiday and Volcano rolls! Even the Philadelphia roll was one of the best I have had. I have tried over a... dozen different spots for sushi in and around the Columbia area, and this is my favorite so far. If you try a lot of sushi, youstart to understand that there is a serious difference in fish quality among restaurants, and you?re able to almost immediatelytell if a place is using the good stuff or, just skimping by with cheap cuts. I can confidently say that Sushi King is usingfish that is worth the money. However, that does lead to their top-end rolls being a bit more expensive. In my opinion, it isworth the $15-22 per roll for great tasting sushi. But if you?re wanting something cheaper, they have plenty of simple rollsthat are just as good. The inside of the restaurant gets a little tight when people start packing in for dinner, but it?s cleanand there?s enough space for each table where you don?t feel too cramped. Service has always been friendly and quick. Theowners will sometimes walk around and ask how you are doing and if you enjoy your meal. Overall, Sushi King passes thevibe-check.
