This is one of the only places that has been in business forever and has not sacrifice on the quality of their food to make an... extra buck. The regular sashimi boat I received was premium, a couple notches up from Azumi(in Baltimore) and comparable toToro in DC. The inside atmosphere is a little fancier at the city sushi restaurants metioned, this location was nice with aview overlooking the lake. The rolls were different from other restaurants and unique. My favorite was the Black Snapper whichis the whole fish prepared sashimi and Nigiri style. Totally amazing!!! There are always 4-5 attentive friendly servers tendingto your table. Excellent! Enjoyed a shrimp tempura dinner at Sono recently. Literally everything was perfect. Tempura was light and flavourful.... Miso soup was very tasty as was the steamed rice. I haven't been in many years since King and Amy were the owners. I went back recently and it's still good, but not quite as... good as I remember. The fish is still good, but not the top quality I remember. Uni is always my freshness test, and it'sdefinitely not as good as it used to be. I could tell the tempura ice cream is made differently as well. The classic SushiSono staple rolls were still great. I always recommend the Dragon Roll and Bridal Veil. Read more
