I haven't been in many years since King and Amy were the owners. I went back recently and it's still good, but not quite as... good as I remember. The fish is still good, but not the top quality I remember. Uni is always my freshness test, and it'sdefinitely not as good as it used to be. I could tell the tempura ice cream is made differently as well. The classic SushiSono staple rolls were still great. I always recommend the Dragon Roll and Bridal Veil. Read more

This is one of the only places that has been in business forever and has not sacrifice on the quality of their food to make an... extra buck. The regular sashimi boat I received was premium, a couple notches up from Azumi(in Baltimore) and comparable toToro in DC. The inside atmosphere is a little fancier at the city sushi restaurants metioned, this location was nice with aview overlooking the lake. The rolls were different from other restaurants and unique. My favorite was the Black Snapper whichis the whole fish prepared sashimi and Nigiri style. Totally amazing!!! There are always 4-5 attentive friendly servers tendingto your table. This place is definitely worthy of a sushi date night. Read more

$$$ Fresh Fish for sure but it comes with a cost, overall must try not your typical flavor rolls and sauces. Sashimi was clean... and perfectly textured. Very clean tastes, awesome umami mix for spicy tuna in sono12, uni from Japan need to find out the dayof delivery so I can make the trip back was Ok when I tried it but couldn't get the true flavors, but as a uni lover you shouldknow it's always a hit or miss event. I've been to Sushi Sono at least 4 times and have always been impressed by the quality of the fish and the delicious... flavoring. My favorite roll by far is Sono #14. It is filled with spicy tuna and topped with salmon, all seasoned with adelightful soy glaze. It has great texture with the noodles inside of the roll and is chock full of melt-in-your mouthfish. The nabeyaki udon is also a must-get -- perfect broth with scallop, clam, shrimp, chicken, kameboko, spinach, andnoodles. Each ingredient is perfectly cooked and tender. It is the perfect pairing for sushi. I also really liked Sono #12which has shrimp tempura and spicy tuna. I wasn't as big of a fan of the scallop roll and the royal crab roll. We also triedthe seaweed salad, shrimp/veggie tempura, and yakitori appetizers as well as the black sesame ice cream. All wereexcellent. Sushi Sono is excellent and always a special treat when I'm visiting Maryland! Read more
