I hate to leave a bad review but the quality of the Gyro meat has gone down. I was first introduced to the The Halal Guys on... 53rd & 6th Ave (in NYC after 8PM) over a decade ago. They have long been one of my favorites but perhaps they are feeling thepinch of inflation. The Gyro meat tastes as if the ratio of soy and breadcrumbs are up, and beef and lamb are down. Theircustomer service is always great, but I will only return after sometime to sample. However, if no return to original tastedetected I will no longer patronize this establishment. Read more
I heard many good stories about the New York location so I decided to try this place out. I've had similar food from other... places and the white sauce is usually what makes the platter so good, but the white sauce here tastes like watered down ranch.The food was also pretty dry so I couldn't not use the sauce but the sauce didn't really do its justice. The portion is muchbigger than I expected but I wish the food actually tasted good. Read more
Huge fan of New York?s chicken over rice and We usually have a regular chicken platter from here. But this time we were a little... indecisive looking at the lamb option because at most of the places the lamb tastes good while it?s hot but gets chewy later, soour server(Margarita) offered us to try the lamb. Food is so tasty and fresh. Keeps me coming back for more! Gyro platter can be ordered with chick or falafel. The deal is that... the platters are packed nice n tight with food. I always like to save some for later. You know how you can never get condimentsfrom restaurants to go? Well these guys make sure I had plenty every time I order. Just plain good eating. Great food!!! Reminded me of the Halal food truck in NYC and the summers walking around Manhattan. Highly recommend getting at... least 7 lines of white sauce and 2 lines of hot sauce. I live in Tampa now but this is a go to when I'm in town. Read more
Food and service were very good. The acoustics of the restaurant left a lot to be desired. An enormous amount of echo and... constant beeping noises from the kitchen were attention catching. You have to park in Columbia Mall which on the weekend is noteasy. Overall, a nice and busy restaurant and an interesting crowd. Would recommend Read more
