This is a casual slash fine dining experience with dim lighting and jazzy music ????. Wonderful staff and good atmosphere. I had... a lemon drop drink very good! Steak was amazing. My medium well was slightly undercooked. Our host ordered mussels and they were undercooked with ice inside... the mussels. They took it off the bill and apologized, but that kind of mistake could make someone sick. The flat bread hadwonderful flavors, but was burnt on some of the edges. Not sure we will go back. Food was good. Our waitress was good. My complaint is we were told we?d have a 45 minute wait. After waiting 90 minutes we were... told we were next to be seated. Didn?t get seated until 2.5 hours after we arrived. When I complained to front staff, was toldthey ?aren?t allowed to quote a wait over 1 hour?. I believe this is dishonest. I would rather be told the wait is over 2 hoursso I could consider going elsewhere. Spent 4+ hours at the restaurant. I don?t mind waiting 1 hour to be seated. What a way to celebrate a college graduation! The location is very unassuming (in a strip mall) but once you step inside, it?s a... vibe that is a welcome surprise! The service was excellent. Our waiter, Chris, was very informative & energetic. The food wasgreat?every course! We ordered the wings & crab dip as appetizers. All good and everything was consumed with vigor. ???? Steak,Lobster & Pasta were the meals consumed. Everyone enjoyed their meal. There was small capacity for a shareable slice of key limepie. The crust on the pie was amazing! *Note: I made reservations months in advance of the date. Chris McD?s is listed as one ofthe best restaurants in Columbia, Mo. First time visiter. I would definitely return. Warm spinach salad wow... why do I never think to make this myself ?? Also had 12... oz rib eye with truffle fries and broccolini. Dessert was creme Brule.... excellent. Our server was extra attractive as wellwhich added to a luxe feeling. Felt like I was in a big city upscale restaurant with a 800 dollar bill. Side note I tried thecroutons with the wedge salad....wowwowow. soaked in delicious something yet also crunchy... Oh and the tortellini with the seabass was really tasty too. None of us were Disappointed until we went to a chain restaurant and felt like cafeteria experience. Read more
It?s between a 3 and 4 for me. Food was good, our steaks were cooked appropriately, however - the ambiance, environment, etc was... like 1 star. It?s disappointing they don?t take reservations unless it?s a party of 6 or more. We had to wait 30 min for atable, which wasn?t a big deal, however, there?s not really anywhere to wait unless you want to sit at the bar. We were on adate night and were sat at the very back of the restaurant at a shortened table exactly across from the double swinging doors tothe pretty loud kitchen. Servers in and out, dishes clanking the whole time. Drink service was also back there and that wasloud. We unfortunately were seated up against a rather loud party, which is not the restaurants fault, but when added in withthe very loud kitchen, well, it just wasn?t the atmosphere we were looking forward to. We waited a good hour for our food,thankfully we got a salad otherwise it would have been quite a wait. Bread would have been nice. I don?t know, we were justdisappointed. We?ve always wanted to try it and don?t mind shelling out the $$$ for an excellent dining experience, however,this was not it. If they would take reservations AND reconfigure the inside (because no one should be seated directly acrossfrom the kitchen) we would return. Read more

Last night was definitely one of the best meals of my life. From the tuna to the seemingly simple wedge salad to the flawless... martinis, I think I was exposed to a new level of culinary awareness. The bearded waiter was also among the finest servers thatI've ever had the good fortune to encounter. The waitress and bartender at the bar were also special, and spectacular. I don'tknow how I had been missing this place the last 25 years but it's just become a future staple of my lifestyle. BRAVO! Read more
