A good friend & I went to Gervais & Vine for an early, light dinner. It was my first visit. I enjoyed the ambience , tapas, &... most importantly the wine. The covered patio was a relaxing setting, even on a hot summer day. The Costa Brava dip is superb, as were the seared scallops... and shrimp gambas. We appreciated the portion size for these being tapas. We also got the quail red beans and rice that was aspecial that evening. SO GOOD we asked for more red beans and rice. The eggplant fries were the perfect size and highlyrecommend holding onto the honey yogurt times I dipping sauce that comes with them if your getting scallops or shrimps asanother tapa ???? Newly relocated to the Columbia area, I was out exploring the scene for a drink and bite to eat. I happened upon Gervais and... Vine in passing and figure it would be a good opportunity to try out a new spot and gamble on getting my fix of both for thenight. It proved to be a great choice as I had an extremely enjoyable evening orchestrated by my waiter Josh and chef Jeff. Bothgentlemen were very pleasant, personable and had an apparent passion for their jobs which showed through in the services thatwere provided. They deserve special recognition. The wine and dishes I tried at Josh’s suggested were all delicious and thevibes in the atmosphere were perfect in distracting my mind from the work day. Coming from Charleston SC, I was nervous aboutnot having an experience that would compare to what I was use to but Gervais and Vine represented Columbia well and made me feelat home in a foreign land. I love small plates. They take online reservations, and their service is superb. We had the red/white wine flight, the scallops... and the greek pizza. Totally would recommend. Read more
Ryan and Ali were excellent hosts. What a way to welcome tourists to Columbia. Fantastic drinks and food. I mean, holy moly, we... had a good time. Highly recommend this be your first stop in town just to get a feel for what you should do and where you shouldgo. We lucked into these guys but we're happy to pass our fortune on to you. Walkable from most hotels in the city center and adelightful atmosphere. Servers and bartenders and cooks who are good at what they do and happy to make your trip enjoyable. Read more
Wait staff (Roman in particular) were so attentive and polite. They absolutely earned their tip. Great atmosphere for hanging... out for awhile, trying some small shareables, and tasting a flight of wine. I'm not the biggest fan of Tapas as a value eat ingeneral, but the experience here was very enjoyable and worth it. Read more
