Food is decent but not worth the abysmal service. Kind of mind boggling that it could take 45 minutes to get two microwaved... sandwiches when there are a total of 8 people in the restaurant. Groucho's Deli at 4717 Forest Drive, Columbia, South Carolina 29206 does not have any promotional items for Veterans on Veterans... Day (11 November every year). This is beyond an insult given their proximity (not even two miles) to Fort Jackson, a militaryinstallation in existence since 1917 AD, created during World War I. Groucho's did not exist until 1941, so for 24 years priorto their existence, the military and veterans existed in the area. Furthermore, Groucho's Deli has a multitude of modelairplanes, all of which are military models. I find their utter mockery of veterans comparable to the likes of NorthernCarpetbaggers prevalent in the Reconstruction era of American history. I placed a phone order and the lady taking the order was very rude and I ask to speak with a manager and the other young lady... sent the cook out and he the one told me that no manger was in and I asked for a phone number to call him and I was giving adisconnected number while I was leaving a couple came in and they didn?t they was treated with the upmost respect. I had the WORST experience and service from this location today. First, as I called in for the curbside service I was rudely... told that curbside was not available at the moment. As I went inside to wait, for over 30 minutes, I blatantly saw this sameserver answer a call and make arrangements to deliver curbside in a moment. During my absurdly long wait time, I was passed overnumerous times to pay for my order, I was told by one server "NOT TO TALK TO HER" after asking what was the system of thechaotic line. This same server blatantly waited until I moved away from counter to take payments for man behind me. And when IFINALLY received my food, I was sloppily placed on burnt toast. Because I'd asked for a manager earlier, who WOULD NOT COMESPEAK WITH ME, I just left in place of waiting another 30 plus minutes for appropriate service. 1st time visit. Impressive meal & staff. Clean, neat & friendly! The only thing I would like to see added as a menu item is... Antipasto Salad.
