My friends and I had just spent a long day volunteering at a cold Spartan Race in Tryon and were looking for a hot meal. Stopped... at Rural Seed 30 minutes before closing time and were worried about getting served. Should not have worried. Seated immediatelyeven though place was full. Enjoyed some awesome beer cheese soup for an app which warmed us up, then had the Land and Seaspecial. Fish was just right and the steak was juicy and tender. I normally cannot stand green beans in the shell. I ate mywhole serving. Our server was attentive and the food came out fast even though they had live music going and the place was full.Totally satisfied with our experience. Read more

What a fun hidden gem. Tucked away in this old building all reinivated. Fun out door seating. Food was good. We had The Sea... Bass, tacos, fried pickles, steak. Great variety and good food. We ordered Pumpkin Bread to go for breakfast the next morning, was very good. Service was a little slow and forgetful but could be short staffed and busy. They were very kind and polite justkept forgetting our drinks. We will be back next time we are in town. Read more

Great spot not too far off the highway. Wonderful staff. Good food. I had a salad to start. It was super fresh. I also had... shrimp and grits on special. It needed some hot sauce and salt but otherwise was very good. The tomatoes in it had a very goodflavor. It's not a restaurant I'm going to have to stop at every time I come through, but it was good and I would definitely eatthere again. Read more

The Rural Seed is a hidden gem in Columbus, and it is one of the best restaurants in Polk county. They food is local and fresh,... and the dishes are creative. They have gluten-free buns and corn tortillas, which are life-savers for me. The prices are veryreasonable, and the customer service is great. The outside of the building needs a little work, but don't let that deter youfrom eating there. Read more

Not cultural friendly. We stopped in expecting a lovely brunch. However, not only was Shyane not pleasant the food was... average. The gravy was cold and thick. The biscuits were dry and gritty. When we mentioned this at check out she said it's ourbest seller. No care or concern that our daughter never touched her plate. Could not recommend. Read more

This place...it looks terrible outside lol.. but don't let that fool you because I'm serious, this was the best food on our week... long vacation stemming mostly from Myrtle Beach where we ate at a lot of nice places (seemingly). This place we found onaccident. The inside is beautiful and the food is serious, it's chef serious, it's so serious that I didn't understand most ofthe ingredients. I said serious alot but that's only because this place should be in New York or something, not in historicalColumbus NC. Don't judge a book by its cover, you need to seek this place out if you're serious about your dining. I'd give it 6stars ????. I'm from Indiana and in no way do I know anyone here or endorse this place aside from objective experience. Gohere. The owner is a farmer so..everything is fresh. You wouldn't expect such an intricate menu from a farmer, you'd expectbasic food but you'd be perfectly wrong. This is by far one of my favorite places and I hope it never ends. Read more

1st time in. Had family visiting & googled where to take my daughter-in-law & daughter to a Sunday brunch. We have passed The... Rural Seed many times and from the outside just never cared to go inside. Well l am so glad we did. It is very eclectic & theback opens into a large bar area with a place for music that looks like it could be a fun time in the evenings. On Sundays theyhave a LARGE cinnamon bun that 4 of us shared. They had good food selections & everyone enjoyed what they got. I have had bettershrimp & grits other places so just brought it home for my husband. Not bad enough to drop a star for. Everyone was super nice &just all in all a nice experience. I do want to point out no alcohol til noon which was disappointing as We were looking forwardto a mimosa. We will be back. Read more

We've eaten here a few times, then we brought a group here for Sunday brunch, fantastic service and great food. The cinnamon... rolls are a must have treat! Cherry cheese blintzes were tasty and sweet. Turkey sandwich with bacon was larger than expected, with crispy homemade chips for the side dish. Others in our party had kale salad, omelets and basic breakfasts with eggs andbacon, perfectly cooked. Service attentive and meals came out in reasonable time for a group of 17. Previously we really enjoyedthe bone-in pork chop and shrimp tacos. Highly recommend and we will be back again! Read more
