I've been going here for years. I love the warm bread and olive oil and herb dip as an appetizer.. Turkish tea is amazing. I... like to try different things when I go there. I have not been disappointed yet. Though my favorite is the kebabs. Read more

Great service, absolutely delicious food, and good cocktails to pair. We loved the aesthetic inside and they also had a huge,... covered outdoor patio too. Can't wait to come back! Read more

Authentic Turkish and Mediterranean food with a nice wine selection and unique cocktails. Prices are between $15-$30 per plate... with huge portions...my suggestion is to order 2 plates for 4 people to share. Read more

We had a fabulous lunch at Cafe Istanbul! The food was scrumptious and the patio seating was delightful!!! I had the chicken... kabob and my friend had lamb kabob accompanied with basmati rice and salad. We also had tabouleh appetizer. Dessert wasbaklava and I followed it all with a fabulous cocktail - Aegean Breeze! We spent the afternoon dining al fresco on a beautifulcovered patio landscaped with flowing flowers and vines surrounding the seating area. The newly improved patio certainly haselevated Cafe Istanbul to the status of one of my favorite patios for dining in the Columbus! Read more

As a kosher consumer, I have passed by Cafe Istanbul many times. It looked like a nice establishment, but one of many that I... figured I would never have the opportunity to try. However, thanks to a special initiative, they went kosher for a few daysduring Hanukkah, enabling me to try them out. On sitting down for lunch on the first day of the event, I noticed that not toomuch had changed from their standard menu, including the price, in order to go kosher. Disappointingly, when the waitress tookour order, it turned out a number of items we were hoping to try were not yet ready, including Lamb, Adana and Spinach. Weeventually got bread for the table (though we had to request it) and a nice rosemary chili oil for dipping. For starters, weordered the Lentil Soup, Ezme, Hummus and Falafel. The Lentil soup was stunning, and all the appetizers were fresh anddelicious. I have never had Ezme before, but as an onion-tomato salad, it's not too different from Matbucha. Unfortunately, forthe cost of the Falafel and Hummus, I expected double the meager portion provided (6 is the bare minimum, but for $9 in Ohio, 8would be appropriate). For the Mains, because of the other lack of choices, we ordered the Ribeye Steak Kebab and (faux) CheesePide. It took some time to come out, but the Steak was cooked to perfection and the Pide used an excellent imitation cheese(possibly Daiya?). The remaining veggies and rice on the steak plate were a bit plain (much better when mixed with the chilioil), but complimented the dish well. For dessert, we really got the Turkish experience we were hoping for with Turkish Coffeeand Baklava. Both were absolutely delicious, but the Baklava is again considerably overpriced at $11 for a serving that shouldbe about $5. Overall, I really enjoyed the food we were served here, everything tasted fresh and was clearly well made, and Ihope this can become a regular occurrence, but I have to take a star away for pricing simple falafel and hummus h Read more

5 star experience from the moment we walked in the door! The waitress was so kind and made sure we were satisfied with... everything. From the appetizer to the soup and entrees to the amazing knefeh for dessert everything was soooo good. Even therice was flavorful on its own. All flavors meshed well together to create a happy place in my mouth! I also have been in asearch to find the Apple cider tea (bottomless refills)!!! I can’t speak to the validity of how truly authentic it is becauseI’ve never been to any place. BUT if this is an indication of what life would be like- I’d hop on a plane tomorrow! Awelcomed change to the usual places around town. A true hidden gem Read more
