The food was really good but a bit on the dry side. I ordered 2 carne asada and 2 pollo (chicken) street tacos. Their tortillas... are not the little ones so be mindful when you order. They are right in between the small and the regular size corn taco shellsand of course are still doubled. Read more

I had a steak and egg breakfast burrito. It took all day to eat it. I loved the smoky red sauce. I should have asked for more.... Great deal as well. Read more

The food was amazing and the tostada with pulled pork was the best! Very authentic food items and super yummy. I will say that... the service with the person at the front counter was not the best. One of the people with me wanted to order something and theydidn?t have that and said no, which is fair. However, the tone and demeanor was quite unhelpful. Further, when I was trying toorder, the person walked away and started working on other things and didn?t acknowledge that I was talking. Lastly, I found itstrange that when our food was ready, she called us into the resto to pick it up at the front counter, while another party whohad come and sat outside got their food served to them at the table. It seemed a bit weird. Read more

I had the fish tacos 1 grilled, 1 breaded, both were good. I also had the ceviche. I look forward to going back and trying... the shrimp tacos soon. The service was great, all the employees were friendly and welcoming! Read more

First time here and it was great. The gobernador tacos are delicious. My boys had the pollo quesadilla and the shrimp fries. My... opinion, the fries were missing some lettuce or pico de gallo to make them taste better. The birria taco was delicious and thelemonade was refreshing. Will definitely recommend it and will go back again. Read more

Do you like salsas? I mean, do you REALLY like salsas? If so, then you've found your spot. Salsa verde. Salsa roja. Salsa... negra. Salsa cruda. Chipotle salsa. Guacasalsa. All of these and more are available at El Taco Buchon, the most salsa-obsessedtaqueria I've ever stepped foot in. All of the tacos here come pre-sauced by the kitchen with AT LEAST one salsa. Some alsoinclude a small cup of salsa on the side. Also, there are six distinct salsa available at their salsa bar in addition to everyother condiment or garnish you can think of for your tacos. The tacos themselves are pretty good too. You should start, as Idid, with the "Taco Dorado Gobernador," which features shrimp and mozzarella cheese stuffed into a tortilla that is thendeep-fried, the cheese melting to become stretchy and gooey, all cooled by shredded cabbage and a creamy salsa they call"ranchero dressing" that is heavy in smoky chipotle flavor. That this taco is buried under cabbage and tomatoes gives it asimilar feel to the famous shrimp tacos at "Mariscos Jalisco" in Boyle Heights, but... saucier. If you didn't have enough stuffon this taco, you can add some of the fiery salsa de aciete (oil and chile salsa) that comes alongside it. This was my favoriteof the tacos I tried here. El Taco Buchon's "Carnitas Vampiro" is pretty good too. Here, the shredded fried pork is paired witha mild white cheese that is melted onto a griddled corn tortilla before being smothered in avocado sauce. The carnitas resemblescat food in appearance but tastes alright. Pico de gallo is sprinkled on top. Unlike what I typically think of vampiros, thisone is not so crispy that it can't be folded over and enjoyed almost like you would a slice of New York-style pizza. I like thata grilled chile guera is provided on the side. Lastly, I tried the eponymous "Buchon Taco," which comes with well-browned carneasada, spicy marinated red onions, a tangy "guacasalsa," and shredded cabbage in a flour tortilla. By itself, Read more
