The food here is so delicious! It has become a regular place for us to get take-out since we moved to the Valley. The... vegetarian/vegan options are so well done. But the 5 stars here aren't only for the food - this place has exceptional customerservice. The members of staff go above and beyond to make the whole experience fantastic. Best Indian Cuisine tasted ever so far in Vancouver Island. Entire crew out here is very friendly and presentable. I am sure... Chef knows its best at what is he doing. Give a try you will definetly love it. We tried Chicken Tandoori which is as good asback home in Mumbai. Cheers Read more
I went there few times for mostly pick up. Here is the honest experience... Great food ( depends on what you pick )but moody... cranky staff so I always do pick up. July 11, we went at 9 pm ( Myself , my wife,2 kids ). We asked : enough time for dine in?Answered : yes. We were the only people. Once we sat down, the waitress came already sad/frowning with no single welcome wordsaying : you have few minutes to order because the kitchen will close now I already knew what we want without looking at themenu. We are health care professional and always do pick up We asked for 3 dishes , one of them was Dal. Food came back withyellow Dal, so I told her , Thanks but I always get the Dark Dal and I am always asked which Dal you prefer. She replied with avery stupid / annoying smile/ facial gesture : be specific in the future. The way she was replying made you feel we are eatingfor free. I told her, excuse me : you never welcomed us, you are already upset we are dinning , You threw the plates on thetable in front of 2 kids. You are giving me silly facial expression, We are leaving and not eating here again. She tried to talkin a hesitant way and trying to apologise saying it is an easy fix ,Sir. This had already ruined our night. We called to givefeed back to the owner / manager to just know she is the manager and were told the owner does not come to the restaurant but wecan try to pass this over ( was very reckless reply ). Got take out lunch tandoori prawns and tandoori chicken both were very good they come with rice and salad. The salad comes... with Italian dressing I thought this was an Indian restaurant. Don't Indians have a dressing of their own? We also got garlicNaan which was very under cooked . I think we will try the food again and hope it is good. Read more
This restaurant has a nice view and a Flowering tree just outside the front window. Our server was very friendly and outgoing,... and helped us choose our dishes since we aren't very familiar with Indian food. We chose this restaurant because they labelGluten-free and lactose-free dishes on their menu. We ordered a 'hot' (Very spicy) karahi chicken (tomato and peppers) and a'medium' (still quite spicy) Palak chicken (spinach). Be warned, 'hot' is a tongue-burning, tear-inducing level of spiciness,but I found that unlike my last experience at an Indian restaurant, my tongue could recover a bit between bites with adequatewater (our server kept me well-supplied). The medium is still satisfyingly spicy but didn't slow me down as much betweenbites. What I enjoyed about the Karahi is that the flavour still shone through the spiciness - the peppers and tomato wereexcellent. Since we're dairy-sensitive, the chef reduced the cream on the Palak, but the coconut milk was creamy enough, andtasted good. In both dishes, they did not skimp on the chicken - there was a perfect balance between meat and veggies andsauce. The portions were generous and we left very satisfied. Read more
Delicious!! My partner and I love coming here for the fantastic curry dishes (the spice level can be customized to your... preference) and the AMAZING garlic naan that we can never get enough of. It's become comfort food for us, and it's reasonablypriced with generous portions. The Comox location is cute and intimate, with friendly staff and short wait times.
