I happen to be in the area on Labor Day and was craving some BBQ. A local citizen of this area mentioned that this place had the... best BBQ in the area. So instead of heading back to Oakland, I decided to test it out. When I arrived, I realized that this wasthe same restaurant that had signature BBQ sauces in the supermarket (s). I've even purchased their sauce in the past. So I wasdelighted to try their food. I got the two piece meat (pork ribs - extremely delicious...meet was tender and fell off the boneswhen eating -- and the chicken. It was tasty). For my sides I got Mac and cheese (delicious-- it had chunks of beacon in it) Andpotato salad (just mediocre). It's also extremely spacious inside. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 star is because they onlyserve beef brisket on Thursdays and that's normally what I always try at BBQ restaurants. I am really sad for what has happened to this place. I have been coming here for over 10 years, they are literally right in my... neighborhood. I called there Saturday night to place an order and the phone just rang and rang rang....and then someone pickedup and slammed the phone down. I waited 15 minutes, tried again, just rang and rang and rang, so I hung up. Waited 30 moreminutes, and it rang and rang, someone picked up and screamed "Walk-in's only!!!" and slammed the phone down. I tried to callback to find out how long the wait time would be if I did walk-in, but they just stopped picking the phone up altogether. I havenoticed the last few times I have been there, the customer service has all but gone out the window. I use to love dealing withthese guys, but maybe they cut the staff or changed them or something. The experience was half the pleasure of coming here, soI have now been going to the Kinder's all the way out in Martinez, just to get a better experience, because my neighbors here inConcord, have stopped being neighborly. Food was delicious but customer service was lacking. Young guy taking my order had an attitude and seemed bothered when asked a... question. Also this place needs some music or something. The vibes are off. Need to make the environment more inviting. Read more
Efficient and friendly service. The gal who took our order also made the sandwiches; the NY prime with everything on it. "I'm... going to wash my hands now and make your sandwiches" she said. I was a bit surprised and impressed because I've never heardsomeone say that after taking an order. The steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked to medium. Yum. This is a must eat place in the bay area. All locations rock too. Always friendly helpful staff at all locations I have been... too. My favorite is the ball tip steak sandwich meal, but don't forget to add a cheese and bacon to this sandwich. I also Holdthe mayo and add BBQ sauce to my sandwich that is available at the table or to go. I add a side of tequila lime fries and theycome with a killer fry sauce as well. Wife will get the baby back ribs and bacon Mac n cheese and fruit salad. She ? the sweatpotato fries as well. We often buy the raw Ball tips that are maintained for large BBQ at the house as well. Team member didn't get the order right. I asked for two bbq chicken sandwiches (one with no onions and cheese, and one with no... onions), but instead they gave us beef. Also ordered sweet tater tots and they made it plain. Had no personality either. Greatfood, but won't be coming back. Read more
Everytime I'm in the concord area this is a MUST stop. Both times I've gotten their sandwiches and I HAVE NOT been disappointed.... The steak sandwich is an easy choice if you're indecisive. Definitely make it a meal. You will have to wait if it's rush hour.But they do get to you fairly quickly. Read more
