We are visiting from out of state. We ordered take out for 7 and although the staff was friendly and the order was ready... quickly, the food was not that good. Shrimp lo Mein had minimal shrimp. The noodles tasted like undercooked spaghetti vsnoodles we have eaten at locations elsewhere. The Won Ton Soup was very, very bland. I had not looked closely at the prices online. The absolute best Chinese food I’ve had since I was a kid. I went here for the first time a few months ago and have been back... a couple times. Every time the food is a 10/10. My boyfriend has incredibly high standards for Chinese food and also thoughtthis was the best he’s had since the 80’s!!! We got the green beans, pupu platter, dumplings, chicken and a few otherdishes. I will tell you, I don’t even LIKE Chinese chicken fingers and these ones were so good they may have changed mymind. Waitress was so kind and sweet. Everything was enjoyable. Places like this just don’t exist anymore I took takeouthome 20 minutes away and my boyfriends kids also thought it was delicious. Read more
Visited this place with my colleagues and The waitress was very rude with unnecessary comments and senseless questions. The food... was below average every dish we ordered was overpowered with soy sauce. Will not be visiting this place ever again. Read more
One of the Crosby's Marketplace managers held his retirement party here. The restaurant offered an excellent albeit simple menu... of food and a well sized private are for the event. Based off of my experience it seems like a well-managed Chinese restaurantwith average food and I would therefore recommend it for events or if you happen to be craving Chinese. Read more
I went here all the time in high school and loved it. I came back for the first time in maybe 20 years last weekend. I was... afraid it wouldn't live up. It had changed a bit, scallion pancake is now scallion pie and it's been changed, the general gauschicken is a bit less crispy, but I have to say, overall, I think it's still my favorite chinese place in MA, even consideringit's the fairly obvious American Chinese Food menu. So my roommate and I just ate at this restaurant last night for the first time, for context both of us were originally going to... dine at Karma but because it was so busy and we had a show to get to we settled for Chang An's. Both he and I were surprisedthat there was one option on the entire menu that was Gluten free, he has a gluten allergy, and it was Shrimp Tempura. He wasvery happy he could have shrimp tempura and we double checked with the bartender if it actually was gluten free and thebartender did say it was so we ordered our food and drinks and tried to finish our food as quickly as possible since the showstarted at 8pm and it was a bit past 7pm. So we finished our food and drinks, pay for our food it was $71 bucks total and leave.We walked to the theater, got our tickets, found our seats, and made it through the 1st act, when my roommate started feelingsick. Both he and I concluded that maybe the shrimp tempura wasn't actually gluten free or maybe it was the duck sauce buteither way both of us agreed to head home and miss the second half of the show. We got home safely thankfully but now I feelsick from my beef lo mein, so at the end of the day, Chang An's is probably better as just a sports bar for mixed drinks but notas a restaurant. The food was subpar and made both myself and my roommate sick. Do not go here if you don't want food poisoning. Read more
