Not a great experience this time. Usually a exceptional meal and service. This time the service was still amazing but the meal... was not at all what we are usually accustomed to Read more

First time here and I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of both the seafood and the steak! Pleasant dining environment... coupled with friendly and relaxed service made my experience here very satisfying. Prices are fair. Great place to watch asporting event if you sit in the bar area. I delivered a truck to Laconia New Hampshire and since I'm a transporter I always tow my along behind me. After I delivered this... unit I had noticed that there was a seafood restaurant a few miles back the way I came. With an insatiable desire for some fishand chips I decided why not. I love East Coast seafood. I walked in to be greeted witha casual slightly upscale traditionallocal New England atmosphere. The manager kindly told me to go ahead and sit anywhere I wanted to since I was alone so I went tothe bar. I was greeted by a lovely waitress named a Ekatrina who sat me by a window seat at a comfortable table where I had afull view of the establishment. She offered me a menu but I already knew what I wanted and I ordered the large fish and chipsbecause she said that the fish was haddock, I absolutely adore haddock. I didn't order a drink. I really wanted was water andshe brought that with a tartar sauce and a side of fresh homemade coleslaw which was delicious. 5 to 8 minutes later I waspresented with an enormous piece of haddock lightly breaded cooked to perfection flaky sweet moist and delicious with a moderatehandful of seasoned french fries and I indulged. Personally, I could have eaten three pieces of it though I wouldn't have beenworth anything for 3 days I would have been happy. In 64 years that was quite certainly the best piece of fish that I've EVERpersonally consumed anywhere at anytime. I don't say this lightly, I grew up near the Atlantic Ocean with fisherman in my familyand my neighbors who all used to go fishing every week out on the ocean. My wife is from Boothbay harbor Maine and gettinglobster and seafood is as easy as getting a McDonald's cheeseburger in anywhere USA. The last piece of fish that I had there was20 years ago that could compare with this piece of fish was also haddock. That was a close second to this one, now everythingelse that I've had prior just became normal and good or not quite as good as anything else. This pl Read more

I was skeptical about the place after reading some of the reviews. Ordered a lobster roll, lazymans 4 pound lobster and a fried... shrimp and scallops plate. Everything was delicious. Lobster came with a bowl of clam chowder which was creamy and piping hot.Lobster roll had good amount of succulent meat. Service was prompt with good suggestions. Would highly recommend. Read more

We?ve eaten here several times. The food is consistently great. This time, however, the waitress was new and the service was... lousy. It happens. The seafood is always fresh and they have lobsters in many sizes. Portions are generally on the largesize. Prices are moderately high but for the type of good served they?re actually pretty reasonable. Read more

Wife and I went for lunch. She had Rubin and I had chicken parm. Food and service was good. Little disappointed as I had want... hot and buttered lobster roll but markris wanted $23 for cold sandwich and $30 for hot and buttered one. Waitress said this $7upcharge was because of the extra prep work required. Could not pay that much extra out of principle (28% more). Read more

I'm not much of a seafood person but I absolutely love shrimp. They're popcorn shrimp is amazing with their cocktail sauce.... Reminds me of a long since defunct restaurant from my childhood. Their staff were able to attend to me quickly and it only tookabout 10 minutes to get my order. Read more

We've been to lobster pounds all week from Lottery to Bar Harbor and between, and feel like we have our taste buds tuned. Makris... was fine for what it is: a "fine-value" seafood restaurant. It doesn't pretend to be fancy, and lives up to thatexpectation. . I had the lobster roll, the fifth in a week. The "hot buttered" lobster was chilled and I couldn't detect butter.Tasted good, but wasn't what I ordered. My wife's baked haddock and scallops was good. I envied how much butter she had. . Wehad lemon meringue pie, and it was very meh. At least it was cheap. . The service was great though. That bumped this review froma 3-star to 4. Read more
