My first time there. They had watermelon tea. That tea is the best tea I've ever had. I wasn't sure what this place was like but... they have chicken salad made several different ways. I don't even remember which way I had gotten it but it was very good. Isaved half my sandwich for the next day. It wasn't soggy on the bread or anything like that. I got it on the croissant. Not sure how or why they came up with the idea to associate the female gender with chicken salad but I guess that is their... philosophy. I gave this new place a try today and was happy. I got a trio?pimento BLT with scoop of fancy nancy (fruity) and Macn cheese. Comes with a pickle and cookie. The salad was slightly dry for my liking but that may just be a preference. Servicewas fast, place was clean. There isn?t another drive through like this in town that I can think of and the price is really notmuch different than fast food in the area. I bet I?ll be back. "That Black Girl." A phrase that was repeated to me a multitude of times, a phrase used by the owner of Chicken Salad Chick to... reduce my intellect and character. The owner of Chicken Salad Chick has proven to be racist numerous times. She accused me, awoman of color, of stealing from her and the restaurant, accusing me to bringing in my own cup to grab drinks. However, shepersonally targeted me. She had no problem with my white coworkers, who do the same thing. She followed me into my place ofwork, made this accusation, and demanded I pay her the 70 cents I owed for my water. However, when I went back into the store,she was talking to her fellow employees. "I just...I can't believe that black girl thought it was okay to steal fromus..." Astonished, I tried to contact corporate, hoping that some sort of repercussion would happen. However, she simply got aslap on the wrist, corporate saying that seems completely out of her character. She has employees leaving complaints such as,'"I feel bad for any black person that works for her, as she does not care." Employees explaining the fact that she is in fearof, "educated black people." Her constantly turning a blind eye to all the racism happening within her own store... I'm notsure what to do. I don't want this to be another story, another encounter where systemic racism, wins again. I plan oncontacting as many higher ups as I can, but until then, NO CHICKEN SALAD CHICK! Read more
