We went to Applebee's against better judgment because my wife wanted their special deal offering 1 dozen shrimp for $1 with any... steak entree. She ordered larger of the 2 steak options. The piece of steak she got more resembled a frozen square Wendy'sHamburger patty or what we called "minute steak" years ago. To make it even worse it was hard as a rock. The fries she got wereice cold. Her shrimp were hot and good but of course the "dozen" shrimp turned out to be qty 10. I had been hungry for fish &chips so ordered that . The 2 pieces of fish I got were hot and good but my fries also were ice called. Our waitress didn't comeby until we asked hostess to find her over 20 minutes after we got our meals. We told her about the cold fries and complainedabout my wife's steak. She took her plate away, and later brought us one small plate of lukewarm fries to share. She neverrefilled our water glasses and when I asked to talk to the manager came back and said manager was unavailable even though we hadsee them talking and had seen Mgr walking around talking to staff and other customers. My boyfriend and I came here for a spontaneous lunch, and we wanted to do the 2 for $22. We got the spinach and artichoke dip... for our appetizer, and I got the classic cheeseburger for my entrée (my boyfriend got the fiesta lime chicken). The spinach andartichoke dip was delicious, though the chips felt and tasted a little stale. The cheeseburger was fantastic, though! Very juicyand cheesy. The fries were a little cold but that?s okay. Our server was April, and she was very attentive! Kept our drinksfilled up and checked in on us frequently. She was fantastic. The waitress we had was a 5... She was working with one other waitress that night and it was pretty busy. Restaurant gets a 3... because they continue to be understaffed during rush hours. Food was great Waitress was rock star. She had a great attitude evenknowing she was working with only one other person. She barely had time to take a break. This used to be my go-to Applebee's the last 3 times I've came here my order has been wrong and getting smaller portions than... what you used to but charging the same price.. my husband got a completely raw hamburger, like they forgot to cook it, like ifthey thought he was a ??????? vampire, the lady looked at it and was in completely shocked says she dont know what happenedthere. she took it back immediately kind of wanted to take a picture of it before she took it but... with this said I will stillcome back here versus going to other restaurants kind of don't have much of a choice nowadays covid messed up a lot of thingsfor restaurants. For instance like limiting certain things they could not sell and said that it was because of covid.
