Overall the food had bold flavors unlike the bland flavor of many Filipino places. The pork and chicken barbecue were tender... and tasty. Unfortunately the Bicol express was lacking coconut milk or cream and there was something not quite right with themeat in this dish. Overall we did enjoy the meal and will return the next time we travel through the area. Read more

I?ve been seeing this restaurant on my local Filipino Facebook page and when I was headed towards Gatlinburg I knew I had to try... it when I passed Cookeville. I was not disappointed. The pictures online lived up to the hype. Sisig: This is for real sisig. It?s made from I think pig?s ear. It?s seasoned quite nicely. It has a smoky taste that brings you back to the streets of Maniladrinking beer with your buddies. Menudo: perfect tomato-y disk with pork pieces, bay leaves, carrots, and red pepper Sweet andsour tilapia: this one was a special for the weekend. I?d follow their Facebook page for their weekend specials. I was sobummed they aren?t closer to Nashville but this Christmas season they offered a pickup service. They were nice enough to deliverto my house for $10 because I was stuck in a meeting. The food is fantastic and authentic. If you?re in Cookeville, your onelucky duck. Read more
