Today was the second time this month we ordered custom cakes from here and both times they spelt the words wrong which ruined... our events. First time it was a name and second time the word ?congratulations??? lady was rude, did not apologize, offer arefund or credit. Her only solution was to add the correct letters on top of the writing. Read more

Overpriced in general I was there couple of times and noticed that the price you are charged at the cash for few items are... higher than displayed. The last time I asked the cashier to confirm the price, it was wrong in the system and he had charged memore as a result. I mentioned to him that by federal law if the price is wrong in the system for an item under 10$ the businessis obligated to give it for free. He insisted that I am wrong and never heard of this law. They should have trained theircashiers better I guess. Read more

By far the cleanest and nicest Persian store in metro Vancouver area. They are professional, very well stocked, and have bakery,... meat shop, fruits, assorted bread, and deli departments. They used to have a restaurant that they let go of after renovations,and I think this was welcome. They still do takeouts but I don?t have experience with that. Kudos to the owner and staff. UrbanGate can easily be voted as the best neighborhood grocery/convenience store in metro Vancouver! Read more
Visited on a friend's recommendation, but wasn't impressed with the overall experience. The restuarant is attached to a grocery... store, quite large with details to interior. The food itself was pretty bland and can definately use some spicies and my kababswere slightly cold by the time my food came out and nachos didn't taste fresh plus the service was pretty slow. Thepresentation was good but the taste lacked in the food. I would say it's worth a try once but will go someplace else next timeI'm in the mood for Persian food. Read more
Had an awesome time at Urban Gate. Came around with the family and as Persians ourselves, we've always love to go out and try... whatever Persian restaurants we hear about. I'd say it's been a while since we've had this great of an experience. The servicewas so friendly and they went out of their way to make sure our dinner went smoothly. The food was delicious and the portionsizes were pretty big (I could feel myself about to explode by the end of it.) It cost a pretty penny but it was 100% worth itand I'd definitely come again. Also, don't be weary about bringing your kids because they do have a kids menu and this is moreof a restaurant than a bar, I'd say. Read more
Well stocked location but I traveled an extra 30 minutes to get to this place to get the amazing Persian rice that I bought... there before. I spent almost $100 at their store but offended that I was followed around the store by the manager, I almostwalked out without buying anything. I stopped looking at the vegetables though and will get them at Kin's market instead. If youthink I came to your store to steal just because I am black and offend me by following me around then you don't deserve mymoney. I will find a new provider for my Paak Persian rice and other Persian ingredients. Read more
