Mediocre at best. Beef and broccoli tasted like fish, the rice was bland with little veggies. Ragoons were barely filled with... cream cheese mixture. Steamed pot stickers had no flavor. I gave them a 2 star review because the pot sticker sauce was handsdown the best I've ever had. But I most likely won't order again. Read more

After reading reviews of Chinese restaurants in the area, my wife and I decided have dinner here. There were no other customers... when we walked in the door; (not a good sign). But we were pleasantly surprised by the good food. The portions were large. Ouronly negative was the beef was a little chewy, hence the 4-star rating. Our waiter was cheerful and friendly. We throughlyenjoyed our dining experience here. Read more

We enjoyed our take out. Lo mein, veggie egg rolls, etc. Sichuan bean curd was soft, tasty.

Good quality clean Chinese-American food, right amount of salt and spice. A great deal more like Chinese restaurants on the East... Coast. Huge improvement from previous owners, hospitality is improved and they are lightning fast for takeout, would recommendfor quick lunch or dinner. Read more

Average at best in my opinion. In the two times we've gone to China House, we were disappointed by what we consider to be poor... portion sizes for a Chinese takeout restaurant, as well as food that was minimally acceptable in terms of taste. Our "Chef'sSpecial" General Tso's chicken, which was well above $10 dollars for an order, was lukewarm upon delivery to our table, inaddition to being overly sweet and taking the form of mostly breading. On the other hand, they have a proper dining room that islush and comfortable! China House is okay, but I think Iowa City has better options, so unless you're confined to this part oftown/work or live next door, there may be better options available. Read more
