The buffet was excellent. Service also was prompt, helpful and courteous. Don't be put off by the basic, functional dining area;... it's preferable to the fussy, faux-exotic decor adopted by some Asian restaurants. Exotic India has a neighborhood eatery vibe. The adjacent Indian grocery attests to the authenticity of the food. Read more

Food was incredibly tasty and the service was great. Never went long without someone making sure we were taken care of. If we... are back in Iowa City, this will be the Indian restaurant we come back to. Read more

Best Indian food I have ever had (and maybe overall the best food I?ve ever had)! We used to be regulars weekly and sometimes... biweekly. Having recently moved to the east coast, I have not found a single restaurant that even compares to Exotic India. Imiss this restaurant so much! Food does occasionally take a long time, but the quality is always high and Sunny is amazing! Read more

This is a must go place for someone who loves spicy indian food. We had vegetable samosa, chicken biriyani and exotic non... vegetarian thali for dinner. We were two people and food was plenty, we had to take out leftover with us. We arrived therelittle after 9 PM, but still all the items were very fresh. The samosa was filled with potato, grean peas and some spices. Itwas very good with the black chutneys. And chicken biriyani was good too, the level of spices was perfect. But our mainattraction was the non-vegetarian thali. There are not lots of places where one can find this item. The thali was filled withtwo chicken curry, garlic naan, rice, raita, salad, lentil gravy and gulab jamun (sweet dessert). All the items weresurprisingly delicious, specially both the chicken curries. And owner was very friendly. He gave us complementary Mango Lassi(refreshing drink), which was so yummy. Highly recommend them. Next time we will try the kabobs. Read more

Sunny is amazing. Recommended a dish for my husband and it was so good. I got the lamb, my kids split the two kids meals. The... lentil bread was awesome to be gluten free. My husband and kids loved the samsosa and naan bread. The chai tea was so good.Mango smoothie was so fresh and yummy. I will be back! Update: still awesome. Sonny is great and all the food is amazing. Read more

The dining in experience was great. We arrived at 5PM, right when they opened and our server was fantastic! We had the... complimentary chickpea ?bread?, vegetable pakora, butter chicken, 2 naans, tandoori half chicken, and the complimentary dessertdrink (mango lassi maybe?). It was all so flavorful and provided enough leftover for another dinner. I highly recommend thisplace. Read more
