We have been wanting to go to Barrel and Fork for a long time now. However, we just went there for our first time. We chose this... place to celebrate our Anniversary. We had made reservations to sit at a table, however when we walked into the restaurant wesaw friends sitting at the bar. They called us to sit with them, and Erick, the GM, and also the server that they had assignedfor our reservation, were so gracious to let us sit at the bar. We had the best restaurant experience in Cornelius. It reallyfelt like something you find in Greenwich Village; everything about it: the old house, the ambiance, the class mixed withhipster, the service, the music, the drinks, the food, etc. Yes, the place is pricey, but it is worth every penny! Or at least, that was the experience we had the night we went there. As we arrived they had complimentary champagne waiting for us, greattouch! We continued with plenty of small dishes and each one of them was wonderful. Unbeknownst to us they brought us acomplimentary dessert: cheesecake with homemade plums in syrup. It was delicious. The top layer of the cheesecake was like thecaramelized layer in crème brûlée. The plums in syrup were tasty yet not too sweet. Just well made and a good combination!!!Now, let’s talk about the drinks: that is the experience; innovative, well balanced flavors, delicious, and fun! The bartenderwas the attraction of the night: her personality is so big; she immediately reads what you like and prepares the drinksaccordingly. I could go on and on talking about our experience at Barrel and Fork, but I better post the photos to speak forthemselves. We feel fortunate to have a place like this in Cornelius!!!!! Read more

Very disappointed after hearing good things about this place. I came with a lot of expectations and left with a burnt flavor in... my mouth. Very flat food, My wife dish (fish) was tasteless and my potatoes were burnt and pork was overcooked. The service/atmosphere was great but food quality to poor and no balance for a good restaurant: 2 out 5. Read more

My friends took me out to dinner here and we had a blast! The restaurant was packed so we sat at the bar where Mackenzie and Ian... took great care of us. The drinks were amazing and Ian made a really cool dry ice bomb for us with flower garnish and some coolpurple liquid. Mackenzie told us how she sources a lot of the crystal glassware from antique shops in the area which I thoughtwas very neat. Our food was spectacular I got the Wagyu Burger and it was delicious. I highly recommend the lobster Mac ncheese(makes great leftovers). Mackenzie also told us that she makes most of the desserts. We went with the coffee creme bruleeand it was divine! Wonderful dining experience and atmosphere can't wait to go back! Read more

Highly recommend this place! Dined here almost 4 months ago and keep meaning to go back. Food was delicious but the highlight... of the evening was sitting at the bar and watching the bartender work his magic! We gave him free reign to create "mystery"drinks and it was so worth it. Tasty and beautifully served in vintage "glasses" (see pics). Lovely outdoor seating with firepits too. Read more

Staff caters to the customers, very attentive and kind. I ate salmon and Caesar salad, which was delicious. Place was packed... on a Thursday night, so it’s a good idea to call ahead for a table. Great atmosphere, very cozy. Read more

Great spot. I was only going to have a beer but they Server convinced me to give their mixology a chance. After a short... conversation about my general tastes he landed on a rum based drink. The glassware was perhaps a but over the top but it waspretty good. Certainly on par with my palette. Food was awesome. We had several apps all of which were great. Main portions weregood and the flavours were plentiful. Would absolutely return. Oh, and the desserts were amazing too. Read more

I was planning on taking my husband out to celebrate his birthday and i didn't want an everyday restaurant or a big branch name... place either. Came across barrel & fork and let's just say that this place didn't disappoint us at all. The food was on point, the server was amazing, I love that I was able to reserve a spot and have it ready by the time we got there, and i loved that itwasn't in just a regular old restaurant building. It was in an old 1906 house. So beautiful from the inside out. They also havechairs on the lawn where you can relax by the fire if you want before or after dinner and they also had a variety of deserts anddifferent types of meals to choose from. We got the calamari as an appetizer, then scallops and pork chops as the main entrees.I highly recommend those dishes. It was cooked to perfection! We will gladly be coming back and bringing friends as well. Read more
