Was just there last week. Spent $88 dollars for take out lunch (plus a 20% tip). My wife ordered veg fajitas and I ordered... brocheta de camarones, along with a quart of Cucumber & Jalapeño marg mix. When I got there my order was waiting. Got home andfound the quart missing. Checked my order and was just very under impressed with brocheta de camerones. At $27 dollars, Iexpected more than what you can see in the picture. My wife was really upset because as a vegan, she doesn't have a lot ofoptions from restaurants. When she got her meal it was soggy and she didn't bother eating it. I wound up calling the restaurantand they apologized about the missing the quart. I drove back and picked it up. So to spend over $100 dollars for this just notacceptable. The saddest part is that Cucumber & Jalapeño marg mix was the best part of the meal. Just wished the rest of themeal was as good. Read more

The waitress did her best job to provide good customer service but unfortunately she was working with incompetent bartender. I... asked for a tequila on the rocks with a splash of ginger ale. The waitress returned a few minutes later with my deconstructeddrink on her tray. I received my tequila in one glass and ginger ale with ice in another glass. The bartender told the waitressthat he wouldn't make my drink. This situation completely crushed the entire experience at the restaurant. I'll never go back tothis restaurant. The food was good but the overall experience was terrible. If you're in Corolla looking for Mexican food pleaselook for other restaurant unfortunately this restaurant is a place I would never recommend. Read more

This restaurant gets a one star only because the waitress provided the best possible service given her circumstances.... Unfortunately for our waitress she was working with an incompetent bartender. As a customer requesting a drink that cost $30,you would think that request would be fulfilled properly. Another family requested to change the type of tequila in thespecialty drink and the bartender sent a message back informing us that their drinks are only made to their specs. My simplerequest of tequila on the rocks and a splash of ginger ale wasn't made instead I received a glass of tequila with no ice and noginger ale. The bartender sent over a ginger ale and ice as a separate drink. This restaurant experience is the worst I've everhad. Customer service was the worst and I hope the management team coach's their bartender to understand that customer requestsshould always be fulfilled regardless of your personal opinion. My recommendation is to avoid this restaurant due to their lackof customer service. Because of my terrible experience I don't remember if the food was even good. Read more

Nice Mexican food restaurant. A large bar dominates the colorfully decorated space. There's seating at the bar, tables inside,... and also outdoors. The food was very tasty. My husband had the steak burrito. He expected it to be pieces of cut up steak, butit was ground hamburger filling. He said it was very good. I had the tomato and avocado salad. He had a pineapple cocktail, andI had a classic margaritas. Both were very good. The bartenders at the bar are really lively and add to the entertainment andhospitality of the restaurant. Wait staff were also very friendly. Read more

I come here every year. It never disappoints. Food is excellent, service is excellent, drinks are excellent. The bartender made... me a tequila flight even though they don't have them anymore. Don't take any of the bad reviews to heart. I'm a 7 year customer Read more

If your visiting, living in or passing thru the Outter Banks and you have a taste for Mexican you have to hit up the Agave Roja.... Its a spin on "modern mexican" and this place is worth every penny. Service was some of the best I have ever had. Banter betweenour table of 7 and the bartender and service team was a pleasant addition to the evening. I highly recommend the "Chamorro" itis a braised pork shank and was recommended by the waiter. I will tell you he did not lead me wrong on this dish. One of thebest Mexican meals of my life and I found it in NC. Team and staff at Agave Roja thank you for a great evening, the drinks andyour recommendations. We will definitely be back. Read more

Ordered Togo for early dinner and got what was supposed to be the tempeh enchiladas got home and found nothing inside the... enchiladas except for corn, a lot onion, a few slices of bell peppers and a couple zucchini slices. Also ordered the shrimptacos (supposed to be gluten free with corn tortillas) so that's how I ordered it. Got home and have breaded shrimp which isn'tgluten free. I called to tell them about everything started with the shrimp and got put on hold for her to check with thekitchen came back and said "they were grilled" after I said they were not they hung up. Not worth a $85 dinner. Do notrecommend. Read more

I inquired a week before traveling down to Corolla with a group of 20 people to place a catering order and the process was... seamless. They sent me the information that had a taco or fajita bar and everything else that was included, such as an asparagussalad and a nacho dessert. Called and paid over the phone the day before and everything was boxed and ready to go by the time weneeded to pick up. Even had a delicious margarita while waiting. :) Highly recommend for people traveling and looking for a mealoption for a group and we even had leftovers. Food was phenomenal and service was top notch! Greatly appreciate the help of thecatering team and will definitely be using this option again! Read more
