You ever fall in love with food? Because I did here, and it is truly a love I wish upon every one reading this. ???????? To set... the mood, I wanted to be a wild child and choose a random restraunt I'd never been too... I know, I know, I'm a bad to the bone. What can I say? Did I mention it was... my BIRTHDAY? A dangerous game to play with 4.5+ rated star restaurants online that oftenfall short of the reputation and make you question how many people's taste buds are okay out there, but as you know by now, I'ma dare devil willing to risk it ALL for you readers at home to know the TRUTH. You are welcome in advance. ???? My partner hadthe mole Enchilada plate and is a picky eater. While I don't have the culinary grace, his momma cooks like she KNOWS she couldleave her man... aka, the bar is high ???? So did he like it? The man LOVED it. Best part was I got to gloat for choosing thespot, as it turned out, our meal not only came with free chips, salsa, and beans, it also came with a complimentary ego boost. ???? The core reasons I chose this restraunt? 1) Pretty plating with pretty decoration ?? 2) Lamb Shanks ???? The lamb shanksslapped my taste buds into a trance. I was dancing with the bones like they were maracas. The gratin served on the side was likea soap opera of emotion slipped into my pie hole, it's where Latin chefs meet our girl-next-door, (American classics), withpassion, challenging the American cuisine starred to step out her comfort zone and evolve to be more tantalizing and edgy. ????My one complaint? The vegetables on the otherside tasted like vegetables, where's the seasoning? I'd swap it out if you aren'ton a calorie count and didn't come out for bland veggies ???? For dessert, I went with my server's recommendation, housespecial pound cake. BEWARE. This sugary seduction is more than ready to homewreck your relationship to good health and tempt youto stray from every fitness goal you've built just so you can get a taste of that soft, Read more

Went to celebrate my friend's birthday here, it was my first visit. We had a nice table outside as the sun was about to set. I... ordered a rack of lamb served over a mole sauce. The dish was great, service was friendly. I recommend their desserts and a cafede olla, which if you have never had it is a coffee brewed for hours along with brown sugar, cinnamon and other spices. We satand enjoyed the atmosphere for over 4 hours, I kid you not. Read more

The staff was awesome and very friendly. The presentation of the food really blew me away. The only thing keeping this from... being five star, is the taste profile of the food. It was lacking. The level of presentation, did not match how bland the foodwas. It wasn't bad, but it definitely fell flat for me once I started eating. Slightly disappointed. Maybe it was just my dishthough. I'd be willing to try again. Read more

This is located a little off the beaten path but truly a fun place for dinner. If you think you will be ordering traditional... Mexican Food, think again. The food and presentation is unique, fun and special. It is a great small business to support withtruly tasty cuisine. The restaurant is small, so you will get great service. I give this thumbs up for date night! Read more

Came here with my Wife and our friend. The restaurant was busy and the wait time was about 20 mins. Our waitress was Lauren... and she was on point from beginning to end. She was very informative to the whole menu and mixed drinks. Lauren understood mywife likes and dislikes from food choices and drinks. The shrimp enchiladas were delicious and sauce was amazing. Carnitaswere also very delicious. I had the steak and chicken fajitas. Steak was great, though the chicken was not to my liking. Thechicken was shredded. To me it's not appealing in presentation and texture. By no means should it deter any one from choosingMaiz Cocina. Read more

Cute little spot, unfortunately we didn't get to try the ritas cuz we had a 3 hr drive ahead of us. Service was good, a little... lagging on my son's churro dish, other than that, our waiter and busser were on point. Food was ok but I expected better. I hada shrimp taco and the NY strip steak taco which were good but could've used some seasonings and the corn tortillas were verythick, falling apart mid bite. We ordered a chorizo fundido but, honestly, it looked like an American cheese dip with nochorizo. My hubbs had a carnitas taco, which was too greasy and his steak taco was ok. The winner of this dinning adventure wasthe churros! 3 caramel stuffed churros served with vanilla ice cream & topped with cinnamon/sugar mousse ???? Read more
