Love this place. It is the underground bar of the Five Crowns steakhouse. Relatively simple menu but they also serve food for... the restraurant. the ambience is unreal. Awesome place, with exceptional drinks and stellar customer service. The ambiance is also warm and inviting. It’s more of a... cozy restaurant that happens to have amazing cocktails. We arrived during the holiday season, and ordered the sweater weather(amazing hot toddy that comes in a mug that will make you take a picture) and the winter wonderland (like a horchata but lessheavy with a twist). Went on a Monday night and the place was still relatively busy. We were greeted immediately, and picked our own seating. The... ambiance is dark but cozy. Kind of gave me a pirate ship vibe. Our server was prompt to greet us and give recommendations. Shewas phenomenal throughout the dinner, and wish I could remember her name. To start we had a Charcuterie board (the chefsselection of five) and Ahi tuna Tartare. We had a hard time picking so we consulted with the server and "cheese specialist" andwere very happy with the cheese and meat selections. The Ahi Tuna Tartare was refreshing and tasty, it had watermelon chunksadded in which gave the fish a nice balance. For my entree I tried the lobster bisque, octopus, and mash potatoes. The lobsterbisque was okay, I expected it to be drizzled with a cream sauce, however it only came with croutons and chives. The mashpotatoes were good, but you can't mess up mash potatoes too often. Lastly, the star of the meal was the octopus. Which wasperfectly cooked; chorizo added the perfect meaty spice, while the squid ink sauce tied it together nicely. The potatoes withthis dish were slightly undercooked. We did try a dessert (although the name escapes me) and it reminded me of a tres lechescake. It was decent, but we didn't finish it. Great autosphere reminiscent of an elegant British pub. Great prime rib. Not much else of note on the menu and the cocktails... were quite expensive. Overall a good choice if you're tired of seafood/good ethnic cuisine and are looking for a great slice ofbeef. Read more
This place is one of my all time favorites. I come here for my birthday about every year. As gastropubs go this one has all the... cozy atmosphere you could ask for, feeling like an English country house you might wind down at after a day of fox hunting. Theyhave an incredible burger and a very respectable bourbon selection. Great staff, excellent waiters and the French fries are topnotch. And it's very reasonably priced.
