As of writing this review, I'd say it's so far the best Mexican cuisine in Cortez. Homemade salsas, (yes they have more than... one) delicious fajitas that were well seasoned and tender. The michelada was on point and didn't break the bank. A definiterecommendation in my book, if not for the fresh roasted and ground salsa in an actual molcajete. Amazing! Very good food, delicious with great service. Everything is fresh. The food looks better than the pictures. They bring... chips and salsa as you are seated. We tried house guacamole, steak fajitas and fish tacos. Everything was so good. Fish tacoswere grilled and served on hot tortillas. Steak on fajitas was greatly seasoned. Highly recommended. If you are anywhere NEAR Cortez, CO, this is a MUST STOP! If I could rate it higher than 5 stars, I absolutely would!! The... Guacamole Fresco is the best EVER. It was good with tortilla chips or even by the spoonful! The Shrimp Taco Special were thebest tacos my husband ever had! The Asada Fajitas were also extremely tasty. AMAZING Food!!! The chefs create some of the Tastiest Mexican food I have had in a great many years!!! We were served by Obed... and Anabelle, 2 amazingly kind and knowledgeable individuals. I ordered the shrimp and chorizo asada fajitas, and Buffalowings, and my girlfriend ordered the Sopa Pollo Tortilla soup. Clean restrooms too. This place is an undiscovered Gem of aplace! Read more
Loved it! We were immediately seated and our server was the most friendliest and sweetest man ever! He made us laugh so many... times and it was such a welcoming and comfortable vibe here. We had margaritas and I would highly recommend the Cortez.Delicious! We also received complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were still warm and the house salsa was amazing! Everythingwe ordered was wonderful and we tried the desserts as well. The Churros with ice cream was my favorite and I would pass on theflan. Make sure this is one of your stops! Would I return? Yes We were promptly greeted and seated upon arrival. Our beverage orders and meal orders were taken and served... in zero time! The bean dip with the salsa is a great touch! Not your average tomato paste dip you get at most places. We hadshrimp tacos and Carne Asada Enchiladas and fresh Guac. The tacos were alright. The fresh Guacamole was wonderful(pricey). The Carne Asada Enchiladas were the best Enchiladas that I have had homemade or in any restaurant! I was really takenby their pleasant heat/spice and charred Carne Asada AND their sauce atop - yum!
